BTW, those are inspection gloves that are used when handling rare, valuable items. Not latex gloves used for checking prostates. Just wanted to make that clear. 😅

I’m glad you made that clear. I was beginning to wonder if you’d fallen in love. 🤣

After living in my open tabs for about a week, here is the 7'5" heavy Curado for the a-rig/spoon setup.

This Gomexus handle and titanium knobs are pretty nice for 45 bucks, but I could only find it on Japan websites, not on Gomexus's official site or other Chinese sites.  Why? US and Chinese markets aren't big enough?

Put hybrid ceramic bearings and SV spools in both my Tatula CTs. Initial results says its like putting 750hp into a '94 Civic. I'm not complaining; I'm casting very far with basically no effort

Nice.  I would have bit on that bogo...those naked rods are sharp.  Had an OG powel max back in 2007.

When fishing, I certainly like your version of a couple!  Nice haul.

I have the 7'3 H Naked rod and love it. They fish nice and I like the no-frills look of them (hence the word Naked). That alone makes them look sharp IMO, like @KP Duty said.

@swhit140 Get some pigs on those skewers. Nothing like breaking in a new rod with a big one.

Finally finished the TD-Z rebuild. This is my first time to spray paint something like this, so I have made a LOT of mistakes. Well, lesson learned and better luck next time. I still have a TD Zillion waiting.

Besides the paint job, which took up most of the time, other works include,

1. Deep cleaned EVERY part. The reel was quite dirty, and hadn't been used for a while.

2. Fixed a loose magnet brake ring.

3. Replaced one pinion bearing, one main shaft bearing, and a level wind bearing. Flushed the rest. Surprisingly, two spool bearings are still in great shape.

4. Upgraded the drags to carbontex, and mirror-polished the drag washers.

5. Replaced the gear set with TT's 7:1 gears kit, which is a little different than the original gear set design.

6. Replaced the front piece with a new one. Not sure how long it will last though.

7. Installed an aluminum drag star and a 95mm Gomexus handle.

8. Put a Steez SV 105 spool in it, for now.

This is the original reel:

Picked up an Old 18 Authentic 6'6 UUL casting rod during Christmas. I'm zipping out a 1/32nd roadrunner with a donkey tail jr pretty far.

@msgf91 if you’ve already posted about the reel I apologize but I’m curious what the reel is (besides a Daiwa😉) and what the mods are if any.

23 SS Air

It's stock at the moment. I tore it apart for cleaning and waiting for some bearings to upgrade the handle and worm gear. I don't think it needs them because it's Daiwa smooth already but I figure while I have it apart might as well. There's no aftermarket spools yet but I don't think it'll need one thanks to the braking system. I was careful at first and would try not to cast hard to avoid overruns with the 1/32nd roadrunner. But all that did was blow up the spool. Then I figured out to whip it out there like a spinning rod and the brakes do everything for you.

Just started tearing all my reels down to start cleaning them. This is gonna take a while.

Someone once told me to find something you like and stick to it...my answer is Daiwa. Lol
