Got the new Jackall Revoltage RVⅡ-C71H-ST with TORAYCA T1100G and Torayca M40X, has a solid tip the tip is not soft at all and should be a excellent bottom contact rod, I paired it with a new JDM STEEZ A II.

JDM Tackle Heaven has them listed at $219-241, though I've seen aa little lower/higher on other sites. The exchange rate has been very good to JDM tackle enthusiasts lately!

I just ordered the RVⅡ-C66M+, really looking forward to fishing this rod. If it works out I'll probably look at the 68MH as well

This is a used Isuzu BC720SSS (5500C size) almost off my bench, scored on Yahoo, with a compliment of brass trim parts from Bright River, and NS Craft handle.

bulldog1935, Wow that looks like a piece of art. What's the Glass Eye purpose?

@GreenPig

hi friend - that's a line/hook keeper - it rocks to pinch the line, and has a hook notch.  It was on the reel I bought in Yahoo auction, though it was installed backwards.  Here's where the reel above began.  It was a good Yahoo snipe, used reel, scratched spindle caps, no box, wrong aftermarket handle - everything that would turn off a Japan buyer.

Upgraded my big bait reel arsenal recently to the Calcutta Conquest 400 MD's.  I really like the bigger handles and paddles and they're smoother than the 2018 models I had previously!

Amazing lineup. What line do you have on ? 20 pound mono or Floro?

Found this locally today on a buy/sell site similar to Craigslist to add to my 'classic' TD-X collection. It's a TD-X 105HiA that looks like it was only taken out of the box to spool up (with some really thin braid which I've already taken off). There's no signs of wear/use anywhere on it at all and the spool spins forever after a I put a couple of drops of Hoppe's 9 oil on the bearings.

He was asking $250 for it (Canadian, so ~US$180) and I very quickly talked him down to half of that which works out to ~US$90 - and he delivered it to me for no additional fee.

My plan is to replace the main, pinion and worm shaft gears and drop it down from 6.3:1 to  5.1:1 and use my brand new 20+ year old reel for crankbaits.

Thanks.  All are straight fluorocarbon.  I have 20lb on two of them and 25lb on the rest.

You mean clean like this...?  Knowing how fragile the finish on these reels is, I've just always made a point to be sure they sit reel up on the deck because as we all know, boat carpet is like sandpaper.

What is it that you like about these TD-X reels?

They fit my hand really well and run beautifully, casting long and they're super smooth. I have 9 TD-X 103HVA and the TD-X 105HiA I just found.

Last night's build.  I wanted to keep this one as factory appearing as I could.  This reel has a frame, star wheel, handle, and spool cap from Simon Shimomura.  Even the frame is the correct date code for the side plates, 040005 designating this a 2500C IAR manufactured in 1994.  The handle and star wheel are also year correct for this reel.  Under the hood we have a Valleyhill 2BB cog wheel, Valleyhill 2BB level wind, Avail line guide, Avail 2540R spool, Avail driveshaft and click wheel, and Hedgehog Air bearings.  I kept the factory 5.3:1 gear ratio for this one since it will be used more for lake fishing than my usual streams.  The rod it's going on is a 5'4" 4-8lb progressive E-glass from Shane Gray of Graywolf rods.  It has been too cold to fish these last few days so I probably won't have it out until later next week to get it dialed in.

BTW, those are inspection gloves that are used when handling rare, valuable items. Not latex gloves used for checking prostates. Just wanted to make that clear. 😅
