  1. I have an 84 Johnson with the 15HP carb. The carb is leaking and I will try to rebuild it. I did scrounge up a 10HP carb so all is not lost but I would really like to replace it. I have been looking at the Suzuki's. If I buy new it will be the Suzuki. T-Billy is it cheaper buying the 9.9 and adding the 20HP computer or just buying the 20HP unit? Do you know if anyone has a rock guard for the lower end? I use mine on a few shallow rocky rivers.
  2. I feel the same way. I can live with losing one at the boat if I see it but those I never see especially a heavy fish haunt me. ?
  3. I use them on the heavy stuff for pike and musky. At first I fumbled with them but after time I learned to use them and they have been great. I also use the Mustad Fastach Clip sometimes. It is not easy to use with all baits but is quick and easy to change baits.
  4. I'd bet a lot of guys don't attach it when there are two occupants thinking there is no way both would be thrown overboard.
  5. I passed the Neshaminy today. Up to the top of the bank, running fast and muddy.
  6. I doubt Suzuki had to copy anyone. I believe some lower HP Merc's are actually Suzuki's.
  7. I have a 40HP Suzuki on one of my boats now. Great motors. Last year I was looking at putting another 10 HP Suzuki on my john boat and I was in the $3200 price range. A little too pricey to buy then. Now I see the 2022s 10HP and 20HPs are near $4,000.
  8. I have squeezed a few loops down but never tried to twist a loop. I am sure the wire would break or I'd otherwise destroy the spinner bait. From my experience squeezing the loop or a thin wire tie around the loop works best but I will try the heat shrink. That looks like a winner.
  9. Agreed. Go light on the weight and experiment with leader length.
  10. Do you think there is a correlation? That may explain a few things going on around here. ?
  11. A good stop especially for plastics.
  12. Have you looked at the S-Waver 168 or the Savage Gear glides? I have both and they are good values for the money. Then there is always the Suick! ? Curious why do you hate the Suick?
  13. Consider a bladed jig. They are easy to fish and catch fish. You would fish them similar to your lipless. I would also buy something for top water like a popper. Again easy to learn to fish but they produce. YouTube is your friend. There is a lot of info out there if you look.
  14. Wasn't me! ?
  15. I have a bag or two that meets that description. I picked up a large quantity of various colored tubes on sale maybe 20 years ago. I never used the "Baby Diaper Yellow". Maybe I'll have to try them. ?
  16. I have a 17' War Eagle with a 4 stroke 40HP Suzuki. It is a tough boat and very similar to the Xpress. I had looked at both and would recommend either War Eagle or Xpress. Now that gas has passed $4.00 a gallon that thrifty Suzuki is looking better all the time. Sometimes smaller is better. https://wareagleboats.com/
  17. I haven't got a love note either but I am happy if I just get something with hooks! ?
  18. I purchased a few Stunnas myself. I have fished one but no luck yet. I have no doubt it will produce in the future. The lure looks good in the water.
  19. No, it is not. The non-tournament anglers do not keep fish in live wells for hours and then parade them around.
  20. Well they got my attention. The Premium membership is a good deal but the $30 credit they offered last week for signing up makes it a "no-brainer".
  21. Wow! Some guys have all the luck. ☺️ Seriously I would love to have a good tackle shop close by. The closest well stocked shops are between 50 and 80 miles from me.
  22. Some people are just lucky!! For me it would be too close. The bait monkey would be all over me. ?
  23. That fish rates a double wow!
