Wow….@kingmotorboat, that’s a hard row to hoe. I’m sorry to ask this but, is he all right to hangout with other than fishing? My Dad and I used to razz each other, but it was all in fun. the other me would complain that they caught the other ones fish. Have ya tried talking to him? That’s nuts

Barefoot and footwear in the Boat
I’m bare foot weather permitting… tennis shoe with gum soles, when it gets cooler. So it doesn’t make black marks on my deck, I don’t have carpet. I like going bare foot in the summer, brings back fishing as a kid.

First Jig Fish & PB
Congratulations @Firstoutfisher Nice fish, you, I seen a lot of fall leaves on the ground, what the temp there now? Were you swimming the jig, or bouncing on bottom?

And So It Begins
I know how ya feel @papajoe222 and other people, when I lived in Nc. I winterized my boat and put it away, usually not until mid December though. But now that I live in Fl, it stay at the ready, I agree with @crypt.

Why You Should Spend Time on the Water When Everyone Else is in the Woods
I try to stay away from Ocala national forest side of the river during the first week or so of hunting season. It can sound like a war zone at time over there. There are plenty of other places to fish here on the St John’s, Lake George. @Glenn is right the number of people fishing drops here around mid Nov. So it does relieve some pressure on the areas to fish, places that usually will have 6+ boats, will be zero.

Fishing While Sitting at the Bow
My trolling motor is a foot pedal, not recessed, and not mounted to the deck. I move it around with my foot, to suit my needs while standing, leaning, or seated. My boat is only a 15ft, so not a lot of deck room on the bow. I didn’t mount it because I didn’t really know where I wanted it. I realized I didn’t want to mount it, I can slide it over to fish out of ether side of the boat, move it to use ether foot. I sit a more here lately, my right leg starts going numb if I stand alot anymore. It quickly goes away if I sit.

Frog lure tips
@Crimson0087 I had a hard time with frogs, still not very good. I’ve learned patience is the key, and watching my line to see if the bass has the frog. I’ve found that after a blowup I wait…. If my line is not moving I’m guessing they missed or swatted it as @Bankc said. I’ll twitch it for a few seconds to try and look like a stunned frog. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I guess timing is everything. My advice might not be the best…. I still miss way more than I catch with frogs.

I got really lucky...lesson learned!
Holy cow… thank goodness the remote had some range. Kinda funny now ain’t it, but at the time it was happening it was probably pretty intense.

Well, I finally launched without the drain plug
Hey I’ve done it too, got no legitimate excuse ether. I was thinking about fishing, ….. what bait, where I was going, my speech I was going to give when I caught the new world record bass. You know important stuff, not about the boat.

Onboard chargers
Hi Everyone, Got a question for those that have an onboard chargers. What kind do ya have? How many amps per bank? Why do you like it? How long ya had it? I have lead acid batteries, one for the trolling motor and a cranking battery.

New to us--exploding glass on a stove.
@jbmaine was the oven on? Did the oven door get closed kinda hard? Or did it just blow out? That’s crazy.

How often do you change your braid?
I change when it gets low, because of fraying I cut back to good line. My dock rig line takes a beating from getting wrapped around pilings

Winterization specs
@gimruis I know people that pay $500.00 too get their boat done before they go back north for the summer.

Curly tail worms as a swim bait?
Curly tailed worm is like Franks hot sauce “ I put that stuff on everything” . I’ve put them on jigs, spinner bait, buzz bait, Texas rigged. Bounce of bottom, slow retrieve, fast, moderate. No weight pulled across lily pads. Fish it all kinds of ways, try it, ya got nothing to lose.

Boat cover question
A friend hauled his boat down from Nc to Fl to visit, it had an “universal” top, cover sort of thing. The wind from interstate speeds marred the finish on his boat…… I’ve heard people cuss more than him that day…..but not many. After stomping and cussing I told him Joe Dirt line “ It’ll buff out” wow for about 2 seconds, if looks could kill, then he chuckled and smiled, glad we’re friends.

Sweet Tea
You got me wanting real tea now… I keep a gallon of Milo’s tea in the fridge. When I make it, I like to put very little sugar in. Just enough to take the bitter out, but not too sweat like McDolands.

My Chili is in a Chili Contest today.
“Oh Man” I love CHILI. Save me a bowl, I want some. Around mid-December, I cook a pot of chili, have it in a cast-iron pot hanging over the fire pit. Friends come over and eat and mentally prepare for the Holiday madness. Good luck on your contest, let us know how ya did.
