  1. Who uses them? I thought they took away from the action, but I have heard some talk that they make it better. Opinions??? It sure would be a heck of a lot faster and easier to change colors and styles.
  2. Alright, looking for a flippin hook. Whats everybodys opinion on the best hook for flippin, and why. I like the trokar, but their so expensive.
  3. I second lake fork. Have not had them do one yet, but have been there and they do incredible work. Price seemed to be about what I thought the going rate would be. Don't know if they have molds for that fish or not, email they will tell ya.
  4. Looking for some advice on digital scales. which ones are accurate and consistant, and what works better the hook or the lip grip ones?
  5. I have one I throw crankbaits with shallow and med. it handles all of them well light to heavy. Casts great, and smooth, if any of that helps.
  6. OK guys, was ky lake all week. The crankbait was on fire till fri eve. (for me anyway) then, I still got bit, but they were spittin the bait 85% of the time. I'm thinking they were just swiping at it and getting tangled in the hooks then getting free. I just couldn't get 8 out of 10 in the boat. (even that 6-7 lb.er :'( ) Is that sound right, what could I have changed to help with that if so?
  7. I've always just asked them, the big females get offended though ;D
  8. So would you guys say it's better than a Shimano saros f, and stradic f1? or just equal too? Really on the fence between those 3.
  9. I made a post in the Southeast section, but in case ya don't check it out very often. Don't plan a trip to Ky lake this week. Coast Guard has closed the Tn river between pickwick and paducah to all rec. boating, due to the flooding. It's expected to crest around 10-11 feet over summer pool.
  10. Tn river is closed to all rec. boat traffic from Pickwick to Paducah due to the flooding. Posted on U.S.C.G. site.
  11. Coast Guard has closed Ky lake(tn River) from pickwick to paducah to all rec. boating.
  12. there's a ariel photo of the whole mall in the pics, but you kinda have to know what your looking at to know thats the BPS.
  13. OK, I think link is working now.
  14. ville This weekends non stop downpour has flooded a lot of middle tn. The orpyland hotel, opry mills mall to include Bass Pro is flooded. The mall looks like a island. News says boats among other things have floated away. Anyone thats interested can checkout local news about it. http://www.wkrn.com
  15. Well I got the 765flip. It's m/h fast but dang! it's a pretty stiff rod. I looked at a 734c, it said hvy, fast but it was quite slimmer than the 765flip even though that was a m/h. The 734c was noticably limper in the tip. Anyway, going to spool up with some braid and give it a shot here pretty soon. I'm almost talked myself into taking it back and getting the 734c, I'll be doing more pitchin, and frogin and I think I'd rather have that little more tip... :-/
  16. Guys I pretty much decided on a Dobyns rod for pitchin, and some frog work. My question is, which action should I opt for. They have a med/hvy with a ex fast, and fast tip. Whats the real benefit between the two?
  17. Since TW has a few, I was wondering if anyone has any comments on them. How do they compare to the shimano's for example. I understand it's a japan model, is it harder to get fixed or serviced?
  18. In this instance, I'd buy the mojo, or save a little more and get the avid over the premiere. The avid will have a lifetime warranty with it.
  19. There's a article about them in outdoor life may issue. Claims a hatchery in AL goes through a lot of trouble picking out aggressive fish and using them to spawn more. They are crossed with northern bass and florida bass. Florida strain grows fast, northern strain are aggressive and eats a lot. Also they say this cross breed eat fish pellets much better than say a regular fl strain which is helping with their grow rate at the hatchery. It also claims some of the tiger bass grow as much as 7lbs. in 27 months. 8-)
  20. I have found that my mojo 7' m/h fast rod is sensitive (not as much as my cumara) but for a 100.00 I was quite satisfied. Maybe the bucoo is better, but I'd have no problem buying a mojo again. Right now, I'm using that mojo for pitchin and frogs. I have been using a tungsten weight but with mono and feel pretty well with it.
  21. I have a mojo for wormin, and I have had no problems, and like it quite a bit for the price range.
  22. Anybody use one of those bradia's? Are they really any count, or should I say are they as good as say a shimano symetre?
  23. I've been using some BPS XPS fluro, and like it pretty well. I'm also using InvisX and AbrisX. The XPS is on my spinning reel. I can't say it's worse or better (different uses and pound) than the Seagur. But hey, I'm no expert either.
  24. Well guys, I won't be able to make it. Was looking forward to the trip, have never fished Pickwick.
  25. When is another prime time for going to fork, or is there one other than early april?
