  1. For those of us on a limited budget, we have to utilize what ever is available. Since our public library has connections across the country for inter-library loans, if they don't have something I might be able to get from another library through my local.
  2. House work Yard work Still working on canoe mods - maybe be done by bass opener, not that it matters much right now Reading with wife - we read the same book then talk about it Trying my hand at some writing of my own After 4 re-orgs, I'm done with the tackle bags...but if the canoe situation (long story) doesn't improve by opener, I'll have to re-org from a 5-box 3700 bag and a 7-box 3600 bag into a smaller amount just in the 3600 bag cause I'll be shore fishing.

  4. I borrowed that one from the library last year. Seems to have some good information about seasonal trends.
  5. If you're stuck on Abu - then here's my suggestion. Revo-X reel - size 30 Veritas rod - 7' Medium power My personal choice? Pflueger Supreme - 30 or 35 Dobyns Fury 703SF - 7' Medium power Both rigs put you right in that ballpark.
  6. Single hooks would fine with straight braid, if you do go to a treble-hook bait, you can always tie on a leader. Rod will load, but being a SB rod, it's going to be stiffer than most any other rod...including standard Heavy power rods. I would go a minimum of 15# test line for the leader.
  7. Ripping the treble hooks from the fishes mouth on the hook-set. Braid is unforgiving in this, Mono and FC have some 'give'. If you're going braid, I'd at least use a Mono, FC or Hybrid leader for shock absorption.
  8. Advantage to the canoe - I just paddle over to where the snag is and only cut off if it's too deep to reach.
  9. Skip the graphite frame Maxtoro and go with an aluminum frame Fuego CT-HS for the reel. $78 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Daiwa-0001-4482-Fgct100Hs-Fuego-Speed/dp/B06VWMR5S3/ref=sr_1_5?crid=19WOLIR9XWA96&dchild=1&keywords=fuego+ct&qid=1586364878&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=Fuego%2Csporting%2C206&sr=1-5 Rod? Dobyns Fury 795SB. $120 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Dobyns-Rods-FR-795SB-Swimbait/dp/B00XUED59Q
  10. Both rigs I use for cranks have Yo-Zuri Hybrid. 12# on the BC, 10# on the spinner.
  11. Avengers (Brit, not Marvel): Prior to Diana Rigg as Mrs. Peel - she was Steed's first sidekick...Cathy Gale. Strong, smart, lovely lady.
  12. How long did you have to fight those monsters? Also, how much bend they put in your rod? (snicker)
  13. I saw the price of the Edge boxes and balked. Prolatch 3700s with dividers separating type and yes, gel packs. To prevent tangled hooks - Owner Treble Safety Caps.
  14. It's all I use to get rid of everything I don't want
  15. Go with the Yo-Zuri...and get a bottle of KVD as well - really helps manage the Hybrid.
  16. I'm dealing with the same issue - trifocal, one eye. I went a different route by getting a set of 4 Punasi flip-up, clip ons.(grey, dk green, dk brown, amber). These worked great last year and I would definitely recommend them as budget-friendly, polarized sunglasses for prescription wearers. https://www.amazon.com/Punasi-Polarized-Plastic-Sunglasses-Outdoor/dp/B01C5GF77M/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=polarized+sunglasses+clip+on&qid=1586273023&sr=8-10
  17. Three of my rods had the hook-keepers behind the reel seats...wait-what? Got Fuji EZ Keepers so I had keepers in front. They seem well made and think they'll last quite a while.
  18. Last ball game I watched live was the final game of the Minnesota Strikers. Now-days I just watch World Cup. Futsal is this year, later, but qualification rounds are on hold. Main Cup isn't until 2022...so there's hope.
  19. ^8 - pretty good group You're not the only one with a connection to a band. My brother-in-law is drummer, male lead and main songwriter for a group. This one's a cover they did at a B-day party...filmed by my sister. Their original music can be found - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjFxT3dgR89WCZf_Je3EC4w
  20. Ya, it's the morons like this that are gonna ruin it for the rest of us.

That's why I like my Galaxy - even my 'ancient' S-4 has a good camera.
  22. My two shore-spots are within 1/2 mile of my place. One is usually crowded...but when I went earlier this week I was the only one there. The other is kind-of ignored by everyone...they don't want to deal with the overhanging trees. 'Bow and arrow' cast works wonders there.
  23. THIS! I'm on my third PFD in three years. Last year's was 'okay', but not totally comfortable...but I still wore it all the time I was on the water. Hopefully, I'll get out on the water and get to see if the newest one is 'the one'.
