I think it happens a lot more than you think. I know a guy that was fishing a BASS open and his partner offered to buy his only fish. I drew a guy in a tournament once that didn’t say it but strongly hinted that he should take my 6th fish. There’s a lot of dishonest people out there. Very sad.

“Digging In” is usually not a problem on spinning reels. I fish 8 lb braid on mine a lot. That said, I can’t imagine fishing a frog in heavy cover on a medium spinning rod. We may have different definitions of heavy cover. I use a heavy bait casting rod with 65 lb braid for frogging.

3 hours there 6 hours fishing and 3 hours back is about all I can stand. That’s a long 12 hours for a guy my age.

Fishermen always have and always will change faster than the fish. As the technology improves we will be better able to locate and identify our target species on sonar. We will be more efficient at casting to our target species so the bass will see more lures and will be more conditioned to ignore them. Catch rates will stay about the same.

I mostly ignore power ratings when comparing different rod brands. I compare line weight and lure weight ratings on the rods. Using this method the rods look very similar.

David Walker caught a 5-10 smallmouth with 12 minutes left in the tournament. He took the time to get his marshal to take a photo of the fish. He then caught 3 more fish with 2 of them in the last 5 minutes. He finished second by 4 ounces. I bet he regrets the time spent for the photo. One more fish would have earned him another $55,000.

I only honk to let someone know I'm there. It doesn't happen often. It's not my place to judge other drivers. I try to control my anger and honking just proves I failed. Road rage can end very badly and it usually starts with a honk. Also, listening to your wife is usually a good idea. They don't have as much testosterone as we do which makes them superior to us in many/most ways.

I got 360 four year ago and MEGA 360 a little over a year ago. I got MEGA Live this spring. I never thought I would say this but I would choose Live over 360 if I had to choose. It really is a game changer.

It may just be superstition on my part but I associate turtles with a soft bottom, decaying muck, and no current. None of these things are indicative of good fishing.
