100% correct.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Catching lots of White Bass this spring; IMO they rank right up there with Smallmouth for their fighting ability. 3 and 4 pounders will smack lures they could never fit in their mouths.

SPORTSMAN'S WAREHOUSE SALE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE???
Something screwy going on. The notification came into my email; after opening and scanning the two categories I came right to Bass Resource and made my post, then went back to my emails and it had disappeared; cannot relocate it anywhere. Heads up y'all, if Sportsman's Warehouse regularly sends you notifications or you are a past customer, either you or they may have been hacked. As an example of the "sale" all Daiwa reels were 59% off.

SPORTSMAN'S WAREHOUSE SALE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE???
I just received a "everything must go" sale notification from Sportsman's Warehouse. The prices are ridiculously low on everything. My suspicious nature is screaming "SCAM". Do any of you know what is going on? I only looked at the rods and reels before getting scared off.

I was feeling proud of myself one day last week. I took out a 16 year old boy and his 40 something father, about half my age. The next day they couldn't make role call for another round; Grandma said I wore them out.

School me on Flukes
I still remember the very first cast I made with a Zoom Super Fluke, probably sometime in the early 1990's. Color was Albino, texas rigged weightless with a 5/0 red EWG hook, 6# line. When it hit the water I watched a big Smallmouth slowly rise and inhale it; I've been a fan ever since. It also skips very, very well on spinning gear.

Discontinued Lures
I still have 2 of the Spit'n Image, several of the Terminator Titanium spinnerbaits, 2 or 3 colors of the Rattlesnake 4" worms; I hoard those worms.

You must be one of those "today's youth" I previously referred to.

Tatula sv 103 problem?
Here is an off the wall question, and I've witnessed this before : Is there too much line on the reel? New reel, spooled with new line; the line will swell when it gets wet and could rub against the bottom of the reel frame and the reel seat.

fishing. does your yard suffer?
Brings back memories from the 1940's and 50's. Could be the reason why I am so adverse to yard work today.

fishing. does your yard suffer?
Are any of you old enough to remember mowing your parents lawn with a reel type push mower? I can't help but wonder how the majority of today's youth would react to one of those.

I don't know how you find time for fishing.

Do bass follow lures?
I had a big scare when I was about 12. I looked over the side of the boat just as I was raising my lure, straight into the eyes of a big Muskie; first one I ever saw. Dad responded to my trembling and fumbling by calling it Muskie Fever.

fishing. does your yard suffer?
Wow! My first thought was to try hiring and bringing you to Arkansas during one of your Maine winters. You could landscape my badly neglected yard while Bass and Trout fishing at the same time. My second thought is " bad idea". When you returned to Maine I would be stuck doing the maintenance on all your work. All kidding aside, what you have described is beyond impressive!

fishing. does your yard suffer?
Priorities, in order : my Border Collie, fishing, preparing for fishing, the gym, yardwork. I have three very steep, rocky, and uneven acres overlooking the lake and my dedication to yardwork often makes my home appear to be abandoned. Dandelions are flowers and long grass creates a natural environment. My 60 inch Bad Boy mower, Stihl trimmer and Stihl blower require less maintenance when seldom used.

ANTS 🤬
Once a year I get tiny ants and it used to drive me crazy until I discovered they were coming through the electrical switch plates and outlets. Now I remove the electrical plates and shoot in a short blast of Raid; totally solves the problem.

Scott Martin dq'd again? Martin Withdraws From Elite Series
I'm curious how long the no info rule has been in place. I'm going back in time, way back, to when I heard "rumors" that particular top competitors hired others to pre fish and engage in dock talk at lakes where there were upcoming tournaments .

Maybe one of the suggestions in this post will work for you; if so, please let me know.

WHAT SIZE AND BRAND OF SNAPS DO YOU PREFER?
I've not been a fan of using snaps because of the additional profile they add to a lure and they seem to pick up more debris; not sure if they inhibit lure action. Declining eyesight and fumbling fingers are making it harder to tie good knots so I'm asking y'alls opinions. Thankyou.

My little tricks to catch more bass. What are yours?
Thumbs down to live bait, too many gut hooked fish. Live bait fishermen, as a rule, are fishing for the frying pan and they are also guilty of cruelty to animals; the bait monkey starves to death. Ha! Thumbs down to live bait, too many gut hooked fish. Live bait fishermen, as a rule, are fishing for the frying pan and they are also guilty of cruelty to animals; the bait monkey starves to death. Ha!

I get up extra early to rock and roll as soon as it's light enough to safely navigate and cast between the buck brush.
