LOZ suggestions
You may also want to consider Pomme de Terre Lake. There are several resorts with boat docks, on Stockton there aren’t resorts with docks. Stockton has 3 marinas with slips. The resorts on Stockton are not on the lake like Pomm and LOZ.

Reworking bad powder coats
Smalljaw knows what he is talking about so take his advice on curing and Cadman told you how to clean them. These two guys are the pros around here. Back when I would get those runs and drips I just used side cutters or gate shears and cut them off. Then I would mat them shiny with clear fingernail polish. I have not had a run in many years. I heat the heads with a heat gun one at a time. I do the old 1 1000, 2 1000 count to get the heads heated the way that I want them. I want them hot enough for the paint to stick but cool enough to have a dull finish. I tap the hook on the side of the fluid bed cup to remove any excess powder. Then I cure them. My oven is a $2 garage sale toaster oven. Trial and error has shown me that 15 minutes at 350° is what works best.

Frustration With Silicone Skirt Tabs
Sounds like static electricity but I have no idea how that would happen. I use thread to hold my skirt material in place until I get it the way I want it then I wire tie it.

This is an article about the effects of moon phases on fishing ~ or not...
One thing that I have noticed about the moon is the effect it seems to have on the weather around here. Quite often we have storms near the full moon which definitely has an effect on my fishing.

Mice ate my jon boat cover. Any brand or other ideas to keep that from happening?
A cover won’t keep mice out.

Bar bait in and under the boat.

What is your lightest power bait casting combo?
I use a Gloomis Bronzeback ml with a Curedo X 70 and 6# fluorocarbon line for Neds.

Anyone used Nikwax on their Goretex fishing rain wear?
If they leaked then you probably have a faulty seam. They may have a lifetime warranty. You might contact Cabelas before you get into spraying them.

Foam
Only if you want the boat to float.

Does anybody fish Lake of the Ozarks?
Before warm weather and those big cabin cruisers get on the water. LOZ is listed below the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Erie in dangerous waters in North America.

What kind is this fish?
My vote is white crappie.

Does anyone swap reels between rods?
I have more reels than rods. I switch reels depending on the application. For example I have 2 rods for heavy applications that now are mounted up with 5:1 reels and braid for Arigs. They will soon be getting a couple of E 7s.

Seaguar Red Label and Line Conditoner
I don’t have KVD line conditioner but do have Red Label from 6# to 20#. I have it on bc and spinning setups. I don’t use anything on it.

How much braid on my Curado?
If you are trying to be frugal, with an empty reel and a full spool of line, pull off as much braid as your normal cast plus 30 feet. Tape it to the reel spool and wind it on. Tie the line that will become backing to your braid and fill the spool. Now take it all off and reverse the procedure. You will have a properly filled spool with more than enough braid to function well. It only takes a few extra minutes and removes all of the guess work.

New mold
Yep my Ned heads cost from $.0 (free hooks) to $.20 for my gammys with all of my lead being free. Even when I add weedguard it’s only a few more cents.

What's new with marine batteries
Some of us have 2 house batteries to run the electronics.

What's new with marine batteries
I think Tom and Keith covered your question pretty well. My main reasons for AGMs... no mess, no water to add, no chance of a spill. My bilge area stays clean enough that I can keep extra clothes in it.

Unless they have changed hours, they are closed on Sunday and Monday.

18-19 ft Aluminum vs Glass Boat
I don’t know if you can find a boat that is adequate for LOZ. Of the aluminum boats listed the Xpress will have the best ride. A glass boat will give you a more stable fishing platform and a better ride than a tin boat. Pros Choice is a Nitro, Triton, Ranger dealer in Warsaw. He probably will have the best price that you will be able to find. The new Mercury PRO XS are four strokes. An 18 or 19 foot boat is my recommendation. A 17 will be too small for that big old pond.

Swim jig breaking off 16lb FC
You might loosen up your drag some. Swim jigs don’t require much of a hook set.
