Parallel is a jumper wire running from + of battery A to + of battery B and a jumper wire running from - of battery A to - of battery B. Then hook the trolling motor to either battery. Series is a jumper wire running from the + of either battery to the - of the other battery. Then hook the trolling motor to the remaining terminals.

W2S knows what he is talking about. A 24 volt uses only half of what a 12 volt uses to make the same thrust. If I were going to set up a jon it would be 24 volt 70# +- and I would be looking for a trailer.

I like to use thread and put a couple of light wraps to hold the skirt while I position it. Then put the wire in place, pull the thread, and cinch the wire down. That is a lot easier for me than messing with a collar.

I got tired of messing with collars and tired of them rotting. I switched to wire tying my jigs a long time ago.

The lake I mostly fish a double willow out produces other blade combinations. I choose colors by light and water clarity.

I use fluorocarbon on 8 spinning setups. I use Seaguar in 6, 8, and 10 pound test on reel sizes 1000, 2000, and 2500. 10 is the biggest that I have been able to use. I don’t spray or treat it with anything.

Elaztech has impressed me more than anything else in years. That is why I have around 100 pks ot the stuff.

Everything that you will do is a personal preference. You will need to decide if you want si or di up front and select the proper trolling motor and gps unit. If you don’t know about the differences you will need to do some research before you buy.

Which gps/sonar are you planning to buy?

I like floral copper wire. I think that it is 24 or 26ga. I get mine at Lowes.

My plumber says that it is the same stuff that he uses on pvc pipe.

Ardent reel butter and Shimano oil is what I use on all of my reels.

I totally agree with you. They cost less for me to make than a skirted jig.

I’d use shrink tubing on it and be done.
