  1. Majorcraft Finetail area rods are great I have both the regular area 602 and glass area 632 and both have performed exceptionally. Both ordered through plat https://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/default/language/en/cPath/38_4056/rod/trout-salmon.html For a 7', I'd probably go with UL. @ 1/64th, I'm guessing you plan on throwing trout magnets? These rods do well with those. Biggest bang for your buck though will definitely be using a class 2lb or even 3lb line. I like Varivas Twitch master. ***EDIT*** I probably wouldn't order through them since everything says they will check with the maker. I had to play that game when I ordered a different rod through them and it was a pain. These guys are good https://jdmtackleheaven.com/collections/major-craft-finetail
  2. I thought they had to be crushed. Also some absurd number of trader inners defaulted on their new loans.
  3. Do these things come from the factory with a phillips in there?? I dont own one but thats something ive never seen ...
  4. Those clips are useful for tiny flies where tying is a pain and the knot ultimately doesnt get terribly stressed by the fish. Even if you use them for bass fishing, you should be retying fairly often which defeats the purpose of the clip. That said, I do use norman speed clips and retie as needed. Benefit to me is ease in changing baits.
  5. If it was called the Megabass Annihilator and priced at $3,100 there would be a waitlist for this ...
  6. I used to carry a truck rod and then realized I never used it and when I did it was meh. I gave up on it. If I came across lots of unknown water on my drives I might give it a shot but if theres a particular place I know I might stop, I'll just take a combo/lures I know will work there.
  7. I would also be careful about using too much grease on the gears/drag stack as it can migrate into the inner AR sleeve and cause issues.
  8. Not really super important. I wonder if a Steez with Kastking printed on it would still make your heart skip a beat ...
  9. Every bearing ive dealt with has some level of play. How much is acceptable? I have no idea but those bearings should have that type of load on them.
  10. Thats the fit on them. At least in the 2 ultralight Major Crafts I own, they are like that. Never a problem with them.
  11. I use the Tatula cork 6'10" and its been great. I was surprised to see someone didn't particularly care for the 7'3" model on a recent thread though
  12. ^ You mentioned budget reel and Ceymars get quite a bit of love on the little fish forum. They are solid reels for the price point. The TG Ceymar gives you an upgraded drag.
  13. The most american vehicle is a Toyota Tundra built in Houston
  14. Recently, everything. But I'll tell you, growing up there weren't as many cheap pizza options as there are now. So my answer is pizza
  15. Thats the only way they would be able to bill 8 months after the fact. Im fairly certain per PCI compliance or whatnot they can't keep your payment information post-purchase unless you allow them to.
  16. This is why I never save my form of payment when paying
  17. I wonder if those are the better Lews LFS, made in Korea vs China. When I purchased an LFS it was right during the transition to China made and I was not very happy with overall quality.
  18. I see these "prices have gone up" threads often ... yall need to learn to shop tbh
  19. I agree ^ I've always wondered how many people actually bought a Lews based off the "best reel" threads.
  20. Pull the washer and try again. I've noticed on Daiwas it needs to be removed when switching from bushing to bearing.
  21. no idea but I bet they have one of these hanging off their dorsal fin
  22. I support effort and that includes tackle shops too. But I've seen far too many tackle shops that run a business the way they want to run a business and that operate under the belief that all it takes is hard work. If a tackle shop opened and sold quality gear and provided extras like allowing you to cast rods/reels before purchasing them on a small pond or something and focused on the stuff people want, I'm sure there would be a market for it. From what I've seen, some tackle shops charge higher prices but don't give you added value. I think thats part of the reason that fly shops seem to stick around longer than traditional tackle shops since they often provide free casting lessons and fly tying nights.
  23. Tackle advisors when im looking to buy reels. Thats probably it. Everything else I watch is VHS to youtube like Bigmouth Forever ... man I love that video. Oddly, I've found that its far easier for me to find acceptable fly fishing videos than bass fishing videos.
