Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

In and out fishin mission, 10 bass 1 hour. Largest was a 2.85 lber on my new scale (finally picked one up) good quick trip, oh except for the part where I bent a fin mast on my hobie drive, ugh.

Didn't fish for almost a month! Sometimes I get lazy, and sometimes there's too much real/ non-fishing stuff to take care of.

Walking a big wood rat in shade pockets on a hot sunny afternoon never gets old. The bites are vicious. Three bass all around this size (~18"); didn't take pictures of the other two.

Here is a picture harvested off of @Bluebasser86's youtube video he kindly let me be apart of.  I had a great time!

Bought some fantastic baits from his company, C&C Custom baits, the flippin jig I got from him is my new favorite.  Got two flippin jigs, a finesse jig, mini football jig, two wobble heads, two styles of tube hooks, and a bladed jig.  Super high quality stuff.

Made it out to lake an hour from my house today, with a new fishing buddy from our high school fishing team.  We had some multi species action: Largemouth, smallies, channel cat, a little saugeye and a 17 1/2 incher, crappie, and drum.  I caught a 4.70 and my buddy caught a 4.20, both LMB.  Also caught a 7 inch smallie on a 10 inch worm, aggressive fish.  My 4 pounder jumped 3 feet in the air, musta thought he was a smallie.  He was caught on @Bluebasser86's wobblehead with a soft plastic on the end.  I broke off the mini football jig on a fish, using too light of line, so expect an order.:wink3:

My 4.70 using C&C Custom Baits Wobble head:

Agree. He made me some jigs last year similar to a bitsy bug with a hand tied skirt and better hook. Pretty cool little jigs.

I've been showing all my buddies, they are the most beautiful jigs I've ever seen.  Most stuff would have died after a day of fishing this lake, this wobble head is a freaking champ, still going strong.

Glad you like them. Those swingheads are a great way to fish about any plastic in rocks and do so much better at avoiding snags than a T-rig.

I never do anything fancy with my videos, but I got a vicious topwater strike on camera Saturday so I did what I could with my very limited abilities to make it even more dramatic. That Berkley Cane Walker is the real deal.

Don't worry about a bent drive.  I have bent one on my Hobie Outback, numerous times.  It only takes a couple minuets to remove the rod, hammer it straight and reinstall.  While not perfectly straight it works like new.

Oh I know! Just sucked because I literally installed new masts a couple weeks ago haha. I have a spare set of re-bent ones now for JIC.

Snagged this girl plus a dink on a fluke this AM on my way to work. Watched a Flukemaster video on how he fishes them last night and tried to emulate his technique which apparently works. Also wanted to try out my Bass X M/F with 10 lb fluoro which I think I like for this presentation. The rod has a faster tip than my Dobyns rods so twitching the bait felt easier.

With the help of quite a few on here, I got my first bass punching the other night!  About 4.5 lbs, but Im hooked on punching now and have a dedicated setup coming in.   Easily the most fun catch I’ve had in awhile.

Got out for a couple of hours last night but was interrupted when a popup summer storm appeared replete with thunder and heavy lightning.  I'd only caught one pounder at that time on a TR.  I motored back the launch area figuring it probably wouldn't be wise to be waiving miniature lightning rods around in that weather.  By the time I got there, the lightning had dissipated so I kept on fishing in the rain.  Finally, after the rain let up, I snagged this 2 lb on the Tokyo Rig.

Couple of great Michigan largemouth. Can’t take credit for the first. Fishing with family and they handed me the rod when a live bluegill was attacked. The second I can take credit for and was caught on a 7” Gambler burner worm.

The bite has improved for me the last couple outings.

Strange, strange morning. Got on the water at dawn. I rigged a Whopper Plopper and on the 4th or 5th cast, it got hit by a decent bass as it hit the water. I swept the rod and started reeling it in, but something felt off. It came up on top and I could tell it was hooked in the gill plate and/or body and was being reeled in without a fight. Once on top, he threw the hook, and like that, the topwater bite vanished. I started working a jig w/Rage Menace trailer without success, then had a dink strike a Zoom Z Craw. After that, it was a dead zone.

Until almost 11:00. Although I swore no wacky rigs today, I succumbed to internal pressure, caved in to my weakness and tied on a 1/0 circle octopus hook and a #956 Senko. Just like that, I had a dink strike and let go. Cast it back out and caught an ok bass. A few more casts and I had two more.

Ive noticed this the past few trips. Early morning is dead, but mid-morning/early afternoon is pretty good. I may start sleeping in.

10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Lets Go Reaction GIF by Mason Ramsey

launched on the Saginaw, than went up the Shiawassee river, and then up the  flint river ( Shiawassee and titabawassee form the Saginaw.  The flint dumps into Shiawassee 2 miles south of where the Shiawassee and titabawassee meet) Also, caught my my first fish on a ribbon tail ( Berkeley power bait black blue fleck) worm ever. Another bass  milestone in the books.

Caught about 15 bass total most came while fishing on the Shiawassee and the walleye came from the flint . Most were 13 inches but, caught 2 over the legal limit. 1 14 inch large mouth and a 15 inch large mouth.

The 2 walleyes came on a spro sexy shad square bill. The bigger walleye was only 14.

Also caught a nice bow fin. Thought I had a big bass on until he came to the boat

Also, hooked into what I think was a big cat. I was using a crank when all of a sudden I thought the crank snagged up hard but, than the snag started moving. Got him close to the boat but , never saw him.

First trip on a real Bass boat and I caught this 3 1/2 pound Bass! I went with my mom’s friend who owns a bass tracker. His son caught a 4.5 on a drop shot, and I caught a dink earlier on the wakebait. The Bass was skinny, which is probably why he ate a 2” red crappie tube.

Had a big storm come through last night that broke a crazy heat wave. Wasn’t sure what the fish would be doing but glad I went even though I got a later start than I would like. Had an awesome few hours at the pond. Caught 8 total with only three under 2 lbs. Also landed a big girl on the Tokyo rig. First fish on this rig since it was an impulse buy yesterday! Also picked up some ribbon tail worms to run on a 1/16 oz slider head. New BFS reel got some work in throwing this rig contributing a couple 2’s and 3 lber to end the day. Was lucky to land any of them since my hook sets were sloppy all morning.
