A few more new baits.

 

13 Fishing has really come on in the last year or two with all their new baits. They first caught my attention with the Jabber Jaw (they now have a deep diving version). Since then I have bought a few of their lipless cranks, which I had a chance to use last year, and a few new ones I recently purchased.

 

The Scamp 60 (squarebill), which I've showed here previously, and now the Flatty Daddy (flat-sided crank). Right out the box I was super impressed. Very nice paintjobs, oval line ties, sticky trebles (Scamp comes with KVD Triple Grips and the other two come with VMC. I also like how they have the depths printed on the lips. 

 

Also pictured, the Rapala OG Slim Tiny, Strike King Chick Magnet, Jackall Bounty Fish, 6th Sense Trace and the PB Rat 2-piece.

That looks TW "modified" that tube.  Yikes.  All my tubes are a single piece.

Took a break from buying tools and house stuff…The K is for me and the 150 is a gift for my dad for helping me with housing projects. 

Poor decisions, Tackle Supply Depot going out of business got me to spend money I shouldn’t have. G Loomis E6X 843C MBR and a Tatula 7’3 MH/F. But now I have 3 casting rods, two spinning rods and only one reel ?

that tatula 7’3 MH is an absolute workhorse and excellent all purpose rod. great pick up

For the price, I just couldn’t say no. Now I gotta scrape together some money for a reel before spring haha

what’s your budget for a reel? 

I messed up and accidentally got my most recent tackle warehouse order twice, luckily I was stocking up on stuff I really like!

Last year I had a $500 or so TW order arrive. Few days later another box arrives of the same stuff. TW had accidentally sent me my order twice (but wasn't charged for the duplicate order). I ended up sending it back.

No, just on my own. Would've felt too guilty keeping it. Tho some friends said I was nuts.

Well, the high moral road would be to send it back.  I was just wondering.  Did you ask them before you sent it back or just send it back?  I'm surprised they didn't just say "keep it."

I just sent it back. I thought I'd maybe get a 'thank you' or maybe a one time 15% off offer or something (not that I expected it or think I deserved it...not at all). But nope.

Thanks, I am sure that I will like it. I have been meaning to get another round reel for a while now. My last one I had was a Calcutta 400 on a musky rod, that started my appreciation of round reels.

Well, I’ve used 99% round abu reels for all my bait casting my whole life so I’m biased. I will say the worm gears wear out on them quick, but easily replaced

That's understandable. Yeah I have taken my low profile reels apart to service them and have found out the hard way that you need a space that's flat and well lit with no holes in the floor lol. First time doing it on a reel my friend gave me and I lost a washer in between the deck boards. I stole some parts from a reel I wasn't using and now it works. Thanks for the heads up on the worm gears.

A bit of both? I thought I had updated my shipping address but I guess it didn't save (I distinctly remember pressing the "same as billing address" check mark), so it ended up getting shipped to my old address. When it was marked as delivered but I didn't get anything I filed a claim to get it replaced, but didn't realize my mistake until after. Replacement was in the mail but I reached out to the people who currently live at my old address and was able to get the package that got sent there + the one that I was actually supposed to get. I felt like an idiot ?‍♂️

Right now, like $0 haha both rods were what I have set a side for fishing stuff. I feel like the Tatula rod has to have a Tatula (or at least Daiwa) reel on it so that’s the goal to save up, maybe that new tw 80 will be reasonable

Ordered 16 DT series cranks today from Midway Usa, can't beat their price on the DT series of cranks.  Needed backup baits!  Some DT 6, 10, and 16.  One more order of baits before the season and I should be good to go!

Just came today: Daiwa Steez HLC 8.1 R from Japan. My first major purchase in 60 days or more. (I just sold my house and had to get a 14X40' storage unit for my boat and tackle. It is plumb full.) My sons bought me a new Kistler ZBone but it hasn't arrived yet. They are having it engraved with my retirement date. Dec 31, 2021.
