No you can't use the gift card to pay for the same order.  However IIRC they email the card within 24-48 hours. You can then immediately use it to shop.  Order 1 is buy gift card.  Order 2 a few days later...go crazy shopping.

Usually you got the Gift card few hours later.  I was getting the last generation steez spinning, but postponed it.

I need some referrals for everyone's favorite online tackle shops, besides TW! I got burned on the TW Rico sale today. I knew they would go fast. So I was ready when it started. One of the six I wanted was sold out before I could even make it to check out, no biggie. So I got my order submitted for five, boom, confirmation email received. 30 min. later, I get an email saying one of the colors I ordered is now out of stock. Again I was a little bummed, but life goes on. Another 40 min. goes by, another email shows up saying two more of my colors are out of stock. Now I'm frustrated, and I need to find someone else to take my hard earned tackle money!

Same thing happened to a LOT of people today, including me. I quickly looked at what colors were still in stock and fired them an email asking if I could have the out-of-stock color switched and they actually responded pretty quickly with my redone order. 

 

They always oversell these things.

Really surprising. Their inventory management must not be able to handle a rush of all the orders all in a few seconds... Hope you can find them somewhere else...

Even last year, I remember them having a few colors last to the second day. I first looked late afternoon and they were sold out. Either they had less this year or lots of people buy them. 

 

Not sure how there inventory works, guessing that having an item in your cart doesn't hold it, until sometime during the checkout process. Not really a good way to fix the issue, because if one in the cart holds it, in theory one or two people could put a bunch in their cart and it would look sold out.

Yeah, TW does NOT hold carts. It's a race to the checkout. I think that's the most fair way to do it, then you don't have people hoarding items in their cart and you have to sit and refresh until their cart drops.

Looks like a popper...probably pops like a popper, haha.  I've never used one, but I find it really hard to believe it's THAT much better than any other on the market.

I'm a popper addict and I finally pulled up the trigger on Rico's. I'll do a video on them this spring and put them up against a couple other poppers.

Ricos were my go to before the Popmax.  For what ever reason, they get bit more than others.  I'm not the only one, either.  Lots of locals throw them as well.

Rico's and yellow magic have been really good for me.

If you purchase something from TW that's on sale but out of stock, do you still get it for that price when it comes in? Or won't it let you place the order if they're out of stock?

The Rico Blems were limited stock, so they won't let you order them when out of stock. Other items that are out of stock, but expect a restock shipment will have a date they expect it in stock (such as Jackhammer 3/8 oz Brett's Bluegill on Jan 5). You can order these and they ship when they get them in stock.

He's going to have a big surprise when he finds his Tackle Warehouse box empty !   Now to empty the Bass Pro Shops in Whoville.

Just ordered the Dobyns Sierra 734C from TW. Regular $180, they had it marked down to $120. But first I I bought a gift card at 10% off. So in the end I spent around $108 for the rod.

 

Anybody fish the Sierras? I have some Furys that I really like. How much of a step up is the Sierra?

Dang, now TW has me eating my words. I sent an email expressing my frustration, next morning I got a phone call from TW expressing sincere apologies. They said it has been a popular sale every year, but this year, as anyone watching saw, it was CRAZY. I was happy to get a phone call and apology. They really do care about customer service over there, so they'll still be getting my hard earned money... and free advertising because of there stupid good deals on shirts, hats, etc. Is there an eating your words emoji? 

 

I didn't get any new online tackle store referrals btw.

Following, I've been tempted to pull the trigger on one of those as well. I'd like to compare them to my Powell rods. Looks like they restocked in the middle of the sale. Last I checked most were sold out, but now they're fully stocked! That's awesome.
