I don't have any personal experience. I ordered the NXTLV bibs last year. They seemed nice but I sent them back because they didn't fit well. My hesitation would be the waterproof rating for their high end stuff. A $380 jacket should have a higher rating than 15k/15k.  At 40% off, I imagine it's a much better value. Their stuff definitely looks cool though.

The seems don't seem to hold up very long on the NXTLV stuff from what I've been told by owners. They start leaking.

Typically there's reasons stuff is on sale nearly half off.. there's piles of unsold ones sitting in warehouses that they need to dump. Why didn't they sell well? Hrmmm.

I have nothing but personal experience with HUK fishing apparel including several sets of rain jackets & bibbs.  I have seen none of the negative characteristics you listed.

I will admit that I do take care of and maintain my gear in a manner that promotes both durability and water repelancy.

For sure, I'm not trying to hate on huk. I like their sun gear quite a bit. I just have tournament buddies who got the high end rain suits and dumped them after less than a year. I'm a gear snob/addict and just wanted to put a little 'buyer beware'.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. I'm not as active 'round these parts anymore. Haven't bought anything in about 5 month. Haven't had the boat out in almost 5 months. Really sucks, but it'

IMO, The HUK gear is decent, comfortable but not the driest.

Not being 100% gortex it does not possess the ability to be what gortex is.

So perhaps we get what we pay for.

Top end Simms stuff is awesome but a set runs upwards of $1000 -

So there's that.

I have a set of Simms Challenger bibs and jacket - $400 brand new for the whole set. They're awesome.

Picked up the Leviathan jacket + free gaiter for $228.  Great deal

This is what I'm looking at. I wish I had some at my local stores so I could try them on before I buy online. Do they run pretty true to size?

Buy two sizes and send one back.

I ordered a pair of the Challenger bibs a couple years ago and thought they fit pretty good. I'm 5'9 with athletic legs and rear and the larges fit well. A little baggy and maybe an inch or 2 long but overall pretty good. I also sent them back before using them though. I felt very skeptical of the material. Felt like it would soak right through during a steady rain. They didn't have that sturdy hard shell feel.

The Challenger bibs/jackets run a little big, so you can layer underneath.  If you want a tailored fit, order a size smaller than you normally do.

You can see how they fit me in this video:

I bought a set of the Gill uninsulated.  Fantastic suit. Heavy duty stuff.  I just got it and only use the set once, but they look like they will last years.  Could not be happier.  The coat and bibs were around $250 total.

I have a friend that works in the fishing department at Bass Pro and he showed me the Black Friday sale flyer that hasn't gone out yet. Sadly the VAST amount of the sale was on hunting gear and hardly anything of note or big discount regarding fishing stuff.

I think the future trend for Bass Pro will be private label and smaller discounts.stopped at my closest one 60 miles away to look at reels as i need to replace a couple hopefully with future sales. This year most of my money went to online rather than BassPro as they were out the first day of spring sale and did not restock. Asked several questions to the only guy there and he knows less about reels than i do

Helix 10 mega si g2 for $999 wasn’t bad though

Ya, couple rods (their own) couple reels (again their own) - mostly it's clothing, cooking and hunting, with some kids toys tossed in.

B&Ms have to compete with online retailers nowadays and already have rock bottom pricing which leaves only in-house stuff to discount. I'm looking forward to cyber monday myself.

Some Daiwa reels on sale at Sportsman's Outfitters. I picked up a Fuego Spinning reel since I just got a new spinning rod a couple weeks ago.

Make sure you check the line lay on the spool, some require adding a spacer or 2 depending on how the line lays, I had to add 1 spacer to mine. Great reel otherwise.

FYI these are perpetually on sale on that site. They go in and out of stock randomly. That site is a drop ship company.. so you're getting a reel directly from Daiwa.

drop ships are usually a possibility though if you call.

I agree.  The Pro Qualifier 2 reels are on sale now, $74.97.  The Pro Qualifier 2 "limited edition" are on sale for $69.99.  The salesman at BPS told me it's the exact same as the PQ2 but with different paint.  I'd like to pick up a couple but, I've seen the PQ2 for $59.99 before and may wait for that again.

It will probably be $50 at the spring sale.

Worked for me. Saved 120.00 on 2 100s and 140.00 on 2 200s. 260.00 total saving vs TW.
