Just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. I'm not as active 'round these parts anymore. Haven't bought anything in about 5 month. Haven't had the boat out in almost 5 months. Really sucks, but it'

I just saw the BPS Black Friday ad. It gets worse every year as far as fishing goes. One page devoted to fishing out of 28. One rod, no lures except a ned rig kit.

I wish they would just go ahead and remove the word Bass from their name and replace it with Hunting or something and get it over with already

I have noticed that ever since they took over Cabela's they are worse than ever. I never really liked or shopped at BPS but now I avoid Cabela's as well. With Cabela's they always had the Bargain Cave and would put things on sale/clearance to get them out of inventory. Occasionally some real deals to be had. BPS took out the Bargain Cave saying it "was losing them money". Funny, how Cabela's kept it for so long if that is the case. They carry a decent amount of inventory but everything is already 30% over priced and their "sales" only bring them back down to normal prices. And all they do is remove brands people want and replace it with BPS brands or take the good Cabela's brand items and just put their name on it. Just bad. I also, never walk into a BPS unless someone has a gun to my back. I just find it practically belittling to walk through their turnstile. And I don't think it's just me but for such a large retailer with huge brick and mortar operation the stores are always "dark" and very hard to find and browse items, I know it's not just me. They also have the items awkwardly placed so it's hard to find stuff and you always have to go back and look 2 or 3 times before you locate it. And their forced and corporate folksiness is just weird. Whew that felt good to get that off my chest. LOL. I was one of those people that used to love going into Cabela's and just walking around and browsing with no intention of buying and then walking out with something everytime.

Tackle Warehouse Black Friday Sale - 20% off almost everything 11/27 11AM EST through 12/1 8PM EST.

* Almost everything typically is anything but Megabass. If you add a Daiwa or Shimano product it will show up as full price in your check out cart, but your emailed invoice will show the 20% off.

Hoping they do the extra off on certain brands too, but I will take the 20% off. Have my list sorta set lol.

Not only do I have my Wishlist there already filled - I've also got everything in my tracking spreadsheet...ya I track my total inventory of fishing gear in Excel.

Did this ever work, or has it expired? Not working for me.

I keep a spreadsheet of vacation baits used, which helps me focus my list, to a point lol, and I will be watching this thread like a hawk to see how many places I will be spending my final Christmas budget on.

It worked a couple days ago. I would assume discount code done or out of stock. It looks like Sportsman's Outfitter's 20% still working.

Not sure, thought I read that the sale was for the first 100 rods.

This really annoys me. They also got rid on tons of Cabelas’s brand gear that was really well designed, and at great prices.

Cabela’s/BPS in my area at least usually has a couple bins of clearance lures .. I can dig thru and usually find a couple things since they ditched the bargain cave. I used to love going there , now I usually leave more annoyed than anything . Sale sale sale on everything BPS brand .

Does anyone know if anywhere does sales on megabass?

I was able to get a discount at TW for megabass on Labor Day.

Question for the group-mind.

I know Garmin is listed as 'Excluded' from discounts at TW - BUT has anyone ordered a Garmin during the Black Friday sale and gotten the 20% off?

Got my check from the parents already, and it was a bit more than previous year...so looking to get an Echomap CV to replace the Hook 2-4.

I understand where you are coming from, but I'm going to put my 2 cents in the other way.

I grew up in Bridgeport CT. BPS opened up in this city recently. I go there to support them, I want them to succeed. It is nice to see a brick and mortar try to "make it" these days, especially in the area they opened up,  which has been run down and depressed for many years....decades even!

I think they have decent sales on name brand fishing line and sometimes on St Croix Rods. I purchased a Shimano Ci4 that was cheaper there than most other retailers since it is being phased out for the Vanford.

Not arguing that they probably do mark up some things. Their house brand stuff is decent for the price, I still have a Johnny Morris Sig. Spinnerbait combo that I like a lot, purchased it like 15 years ago. These days I'm not really into their house branded stuff, but I'm sure it does suffice for lots of folk.

And if they are encouraging the joy of fishing to the locals, who may not otherwise partake, then that is a good thing no?

How I see it anyway...

:)

I always look forward to the TW sale but unfortunately every rod on my list is on backorder. Ugh

I ordered 3 Dobyns Champion XP rods today, it worked fine for me. I just applied the the discount code in the shopping cart and had no issues.

Went to my local Cabela's last night after not going for several months. I used to religiously go every two weeks because they would always have items on sale or clearance that wasn't advertised if you looked close enough. Always ended up buying something every time. Last night they didn't even have any bins which is always filled with their BPS brand lures. So disappointing.

they have some of the worst customer service in the industry and you'll wait months for your rod. It's not a product of the pandemic. They've been like this for years.

I didn't exactly order any Edge rods, but I ordered 3 - X-Ray Blanks from North Fork a few weeks ago and I think the tracking emails all came from an edge rods email address and I received my blanks in barely over a week after ordering.

But, as far as email support, forget about it, you won't hear back from them. I've tried twice to ask questions and got ignored both times through email and then once on Facebook.

Thanks for following up. I just tried with one in my cart and the code does work. The only thing I can figure is that maybe I had thrown a $10 hat into my cart and the site wasn't clever enough to apply the discount to the rod but not to the hat? Either way, I appreciate it!

They posted on Facebook yesterday that they decided to extend it. The original code had expired before yesterday’s announcement

I’ve read that if you call them directly they will sometimes add the 20% to products not on the list. The worst they’ll do is say no.

BPS has a sale on Garmin Fish Finders.
