Good to know. @MN Fisher I believe there is a new Striker and Echomap coming out in the coming months so it might not be a bad idea to look elsewhere around Black Friday for some good deals on Garmin. Also call Russell Marine Products, BBG Marine, and GPS Store and see what kind of deal they can give you. These guys are usually the cheapest and usually can give you better deals than their advertised price if you call.

Going on what Bassaholic says - you have to call them, the websites have what is know as MAP pricing Minimum Adverstised Price. Doesn't mean they can't sell them to you for less, they just can't publish them on the web, paper, etc. for cheaper than agreed upon with the manufactuer.

 

Note: most places have free shipping, no sales tax which you should consider with all offers as this can add up quickly.

Well, I'm also hoping one of the relatives will be EXTRA nice - got a Striker Plus 73SV on my wishlist. Of course that'd happen after the sale...but with the extra on the Yule check from my dad - got that this week - I can hack the extra or wait for another sale or deep discount.

Its apparently contagious.  Ordered a rod amd baits from japan lure shop, and received only my baits last wednesday....no poison glorious.  Never had to deal with something not showing up from japan.  The website I posted regarding the steez....these people are google advertisers so I guess I'm a little surprised.

I have had great customer service from NFC.  Ashlee -Blank Order Manager, Ashlynn Director of Operations, and Steve their rod expert.  Ashlee can tell you what is in stock and Ashlynn can help with order/billing issues.  Steve can tell you about the blank performances and applications.  Sometimes you need to be patient, its not a huge operation and they will do their best to be honest, fair and responsive.  Side note, don't underestimate their Delta blanks, they are really nice and a real value.

Little faster retrieve than I like for finesse (25.9IPT for the 30 size vs 22.4IPT for the 25) but it should work just fine.

I never get to hung up on gear ratios or inches per turn. I try the bait boat side or shore side and figure the reel speed I want and retrieve it at that. Sure the reels ratio could help me out, but other than burning baits, I find the different ratios overrated. Maybe it’s because I started bass fishing with spinning gear for many years and to fish certain baits, cranks and spinnerbaits, I generated the extra speed not the reel is why this works out that way for me.

Well, these are spinners - the difference in retrieve rate is purely due to spool size as they're both 5.2:1 gear ratio.

The echomap 73 and 93 UHD models are getting clearanced because there is a new transducer bundled with them, so the old ones are getting clearanced.

I got the email with the code yesterday, and it worked. But I was already a member way before that. I only ordered from them once before, so I just assumed that they would send out emails to all members, old or new. Maybe give them a call, see if they can honor that deal by that way.
