If anybody is still holding onto that Rico giveaway consolation coupon from TW, it stacks on top of the 25% today.

Z-man's Crosseyes is way underrated. Twin weed guard. I have more big fish on these this year than jackhammers, probably because I can throw it at wood or nasty grass and not worry about it.

Only complaint is, like the jackhammers, you'll need to replace the snap.

$6.74

Yes, I should’ve specified. My bad

I've been on a bit of a shopping spree lately, mostly on Amazon since I live out in the boonies. Last week I bought some Huk gear including a tournament rain jacket, a new gaiter, and a long sleeve pursuit vented shirt. I also picked up a pair of $30 water shoes for when I'm on my kayak. The water is too cold to test them out in the water, but they are quite comfortable. And if they don't hold up more than one season they were only 30 bucks.

Today I hit the TW website and bought a few spools of power pro braid, new braid scissors, and a handful of rod sleeves. I looked at some baits, but really didn't buy anything. I can't really think of any baits I need right now.

I made some non-fishing purchases this week as well including a DJI Mini 2 Drone and a DJI OM 4 SE. I have an idea for a quick movie / ad for my hotel and these will help me accomplish that. FOX Sports was at my hotel last year, and in exchange for a free room they gave me the rights to the drone footage they shot around my hotel, but it really wasn't that good. I grabbed some nice still photos from it, but the camera movements from the video were a bit jerky and the flight paths were basic an uninteresting.

Same, for me it's mostly been fleabay, with a couple purchases from tackle sites.

Midway has Expride A’s on clearance. Yup, the bait monkey won that fight.

Any word on the Bass Pro Spring Classic Sale?

Turrible!

  • Super User

Bass Pro as a whole just really sucks nowadays.

And this is very minor, but still made me shake my head. I was looking at bibs in the new spring catalog. They have some new(er?) ones called the Guidewear "Extreme". But if you go on their site, they're called the "Xtreme".

What's worse is they were hard to find at first on the site. If you click on "bibs", they're not even listed anywhere. If you type "Guidewear Extreme"  in the search, all you get is a pair of gloves. Just by chance I typed in "Xtreme" and they popped up. ?‍♂️

Tackle Supply Depot is having a Going Out of Business Sale with 30% OFF the clearance prices. There is very little left but still a few good things to be found.

They are not anywhere close to me but when I have contacted them,  they were great to deal with.  The last time I called, I talked to a very nice, maybe older lady, that was very sad to see the store close. It made my heart sink. You could tell it was a close-knit family business.  Hate to see it happen.

Underwhelming as a whole, but the $3.99 bombers and 400yd spools of Trilene fluoro for $19.99 would be worth grabbing.  I used that Trilene 100% for several years....good line.

Thanks FishTank! I got half a metric crap-ton boat load for next to nothing.  Cover Pop's, Strike king cranks, Keitech Ez- shiners, Berkley power worms, Strike king fat baby finesse, Rage bugs and Bull worms. The bait monkey is bloated!

Well. Thanks… I guess. ?

I just bought a bunch of cranks and jerks for no real reason, ha.  But $4.25 for KVD 200s, 1.5s, and 3XDs to my door is too hard to pass.

Amazon has the revo sx marked down at the moment. It happens every couple weeks and the model varies. At the moment it’s the left hand retrieve high speed marked down to $120. That’s a steal for that quality of reel.

the STX gets marked down to $160 frequently also and is a great buy at that price.

Amazon really surprises me at times, ridiculously high on some tackle and the best prices in town on other tackle.

I much prefer to support our family owned tackle shop but occasionally find something that can't be passed up.

I don’t have a good local shop for bass stuff so I’m ordering from somewhere regardless. I agree with you on Amazon. The prices are often MSRP plus shipping even for prime members. Some sellers and also Amazon will do MSRP and free shipping which often works out about the same as ordering on sale and paying shipping from other outlets. And then you’ll get deals on Amazon of 20-40% off for whatever reason. These Abu Garcia reels are one. Falcon rods from swansons is another (the low rider all around fast is under $100 now and free shipping).

I’ve got a couple things that often go dirt cheap (missile baits, original chatterbaits, etc) in my saved for later and when I see them cheap I’ll grab a couple.
