The original of this song is one of my favorite songs of all time. And although Luke Combs is not an artist I’d ever imagine myself listening to, this cover is incredible.

I watched this video a good many times a few years ago, I thought he was just messing around during some Covid sessions haha. Guess he had plans for it 

 

 

He keeps it similar enough to the original to have that same feel. So many covers end up being unrecognizable because the artist wants to put their own spin on it. But he sounds like hes just singing along to Tracy Chapman, and his voice is so different from her's it give the song a different feel without being a completely different song. 10/10 cover in my opinion.

 

 

Someone introduced me to Mushroomhead. They played QWERTY for me, and it’s not usual that I take to a song so quickly. It’s artistic and bold. Very well done.
