This is the Captain Jeff Kuss Memorial in Smyrna Tennessee.

The Blue Angels will be in the Smyrna Air Show this weekend! There will also be a F4U Corsair, and a P-51 as well as other performers.  Can't wait!

I'm a Marine. I served from 1995-2007. MOS 0341. I was stationed mostly within 2nd MAR DIV. I tried to do 20, but was medically retired in 2007. Started kayak fishing in 2009 as I needed a new hobby, and haven't stopped since.

All 3 of my brothers served, with the youngest in Desert Storm.

 

I smoked the asvab and passed the physical, except for the hearing part.  They thought the machine was screwed up and recalibrated it.  I went back and ran through the test again. It turns out I really do have the hearing of an 80 year old man and they wouldn't take me.

Is there any information or website out there to locate a person?  Specifically my brother.  Our parents divorced and my dad and I are having a hard time trying to find him in the Navy.  That was the last time I heard him going too.  Thanks in advance

USAF six years. 

US Army 93-04. USAF 05-14. Served a few combat tours overseas. Screwed up mentally and physically now and have been retired/disabled for about 3 years now. 100% service connected disabled through the VA and disabled according to the SS Administration. 

 

When people thank me for my service, I’ve tried to respond in a way that’s more than just “thank you.” A good one I heard recently was “my honor”. I think I’m gonna start using that now. 
 

As an aside, please, please, please…if you see a Vietnam vet, please tell them welcome home. They were screwed so badly that they had to change into civilian clothes before coming back into the US. One vet said to me one day “you too” to which I replied “thank you, but we were given all of your welcome homes”

I had a couple college classmates in the late 70s that were Nam-Vets...always treated them with respect...it was an ugly situation over there.

I was one of the many unfortunate souls back in the late 90's who tried and tried to make Chief (E-7), but ended up saying "See ya!" and retired anyway as an E-6.
