fun ride and significant because that’s 7 month old hazel riding with her daddy in the red canoe. Her first boat ride!!! (She already has 2 life jackets to choose from)

Had a couple passengers on the boat today, I think they really enjoyed their ride along.

We were down at the lake, he’s not used to all the brazen creatures. That cat was extremely fluffy and black and white, thought we were about to have a skunk situation

Sad day at the pond today. Found the resident goldfish deceased. No idea who dumped him in there, or when, but when he would lazily sun himself near the surface, you couldn’t miss him. Believe I first spotted him about 3 years ago, and I assume he was the only one in there. I had actually forgotten about him, as he didn’t make appearances often.

I started with 3 Koi and 2 Goldfish about a decade ago, today only one remains in the Koi pond, and it's a Goldfish.   He's gotten massive.

Hate to see your little buddy like that, surprised he didn't get eaten by a Bass earlier in his life.

Not only do I catch monster sized Bass, I also grow similar sized Potatoes. ?

First flower of the year!!!

Now granted, it’s only a tiny, lowly dandelion growing up against the barn, but I’ll take it. Won’t be long and there’ll be tons of flowers around here, along with a million honey bees on them ( neighbour has a huge bunch of bees and sells honey all summer).

Well, didn’t get fishing today, but she did see the light of day for the first time in several months.

Brand new trailer bearings and seals today, and all batteries installed. All she needs now is a pile of fishing gear loaded up and she’s ready to rock, hopefully next weekend!

It’s impressive on a clear day when there’s no fog in the Sacramento Valley and you can see the snow covered Sierras from Franks Tract…

On a 30-mi ride the other day, quest for Two Bros. ribs and bluebonnets.

Successful on both counts, and managed to keep the ribs off the keyboard while messing with photos.

All loaded up and ready to go for the first time this year! No bass fishing here yet, gonna do some trolling for lake trout. Weather has been fantastic for the last few days and supposed to stay that way for tomorrow too so it’ll be a good start to the season.

Heck of a nice sunset tonight too!

I'm going to tell you something that makes me a little uncomfortable...my wife wants to move in with you.  Just an amazing spread you've got going there, my friend.  Beautiful.

Haha, thanks. We got super lucky with timing here when we bought a couple years ago. 25 acres of mostly field, with a river full of bass that runs right through the middle of it, that’s only accessible by kayak from other nearby private lands. We built the greenhouse last fall and I had a second driveway added to the barn ( which I’ve turned into a workshop), built the lean to for the boat and the raised garden beds. Dead end road with about ten other seasonal cottages on it so there’s almost no traffic all year. We really are blessed with what we have, and those sunsets remind us of it every day.
