You might be right but its more fun to have secret colors . I like to use sunfish patterns a lot .

You're right about the others though. They're all I used for 15 years or so. Now the gold is almost always tied on, even when I fish a new place.

Whats hot now is cold later,Spinnerbaits were put on the back shelf with guys.I still get as many bites on them now as i did 30 years ago. Always have one tied on.Not really impressed with War Eagle since the buy out.Hope they come back around.Love when Smallies crush em.

Occasionally, spinnerbaits are the very best option. Somebody taught me years back and I still utilize this tip. In the spring, summer, and early fall (never tried it in the winter) after the aggressive morning bite, if the winds are above 10 mph, a spinnerbait fished in stained water near weeds in water 3-10 ft. (generally) is often the bait that saves the day. Wind, stained water, and spinnerbaits can be magic. For all the KVD fanboys, KVD has echoed this fact too. I beat my buddy (a very good fisherman) 7 keepers to 1 using this tactic fishing in 20 mph winds on a very slow day. The fish just would not agree to anything else. That day I used a 1/2 oz Booyah with double colorado blades in Chartreuse. I like War Eagles and Strike KIngs too.

Hey, bro! I can remember a time when I felt that way too. Spinnerbaits were only in my boxes because I got them on clearance or as gifts. For ten years or so, I think I only caught a couple of dinks on them. I hated and neglected them. Once I fished them in the right conditions (I think got desperate that first successful day) and then had a couple of good days with them, my confidence in them soared. I NEVER fish them now unless there is a very good wind. When boat control gets difficult, spinnerbaits often become gold! Try them again in wind, near weeds or wood, and in stained water. I think your opinion will change.

I might also add: in the summer very early morning when the topwater bite is often good, spinnerbaits will often catch fish when they won't hit on the surface, many times better than topwaters. Also, a 1/2oz single spin( large colorado blade) in black or purple with a chunk trailer is one of the best night baits ever.Another option: try a fast retrieve that just slightly bulges the surface. They can cover most of the water column, top to bottom. Classic baits that will never go out of style

I havnt fished this all gold color yet, but I'm likin the looks of it already.

Don't go on the water without one tied on. I liked them so much, bought molds and started building them 20+ yrs ago.

Primary colors white, white/chart, fire tiger/bream, sometimes a black/purple. It was said in an earlier reply, they are a great search bait. I probably use a 1/2oz more than any other size, but will change sizes in a heartbeat, (match the hatch) Most of the time they have at least one gold blade and it's usually a willow. Been blessed to catch two double digits, one came on a spinnerbait I made.

 

Still have plenty bought in the past from 1/8 1/4 & 3/8 ... Indiana blades ...

Got the details of the lake I’ll be fishing a tournament on next weekend and immediately thought about slow rolling a spinnerbait deep.

Agreed....  I always have one tied on but I don't tend to use them that often and when I have been out on a lake watching what other guys are fishing, I don't see that many spinner baits anymore. 
 

I am not sure why but it seems that there are some many choices in confidence baits that the spinnerbait has fallen to the bottom.  It still catches fish though.
