What is a lure that the Bass can’t resist?

5/0 is too big imo. Negatively impacts some of the bait action. Gary recommends a 3/0.

I've only used 4/0 that was a typo. One problem with weedless senkos is sometimes they'll choke it and you will either get a gut hooked or tounge hooked fish. Pretty messy situation. Guessing the 3/0 prevents that from happening? I always try to be quick with hooksets when that happens.

I don't know how to get them to bite, but at least I know how to find them!

If they can resist that, they're pretty strong bass!         jj

I always have a spinning rod in the truck with a Neko rig ready to go and a pack of 5" Yum Dingers in the Bream color. I can remove the weight and have a wacky setup. I can adjust the weight in the worm to match my fall rate based on what/where I fish, but typically use 1/8 or 3/16oz.  Not sure its the one bait bass can't resist, but it catches more fish for me than any other; so close. Very versatile and bass love it at every lake I have ever fished across the country.

I also Neko rig Zoom Trick Worms and Reaction Innovations Flirt Worms; or any straight worm for that matter. For dedicated Neko rigging; I prefer the Flirt Worm the best, but the Senko style baits are more universal.

Live bait. Minnow, shiner, bluegill, etc.

Or worm.  Specifically red earthworms or nightcrawlers.

Any of them in the right hands/location.

I have a really big bag of senkos what rig is best for them?

It depends on where you are fishing, but Texas rigged on 5/0 EWG hook weightless or wacky rigged on a wacky rig hook with o-rings always work well for me.

The lure I use when I can’t buy a bite is a finesse worm on a 2/0 offset worm hook Texas rigged . If the wind is fairly calm I go weightless. If it’s a little windy I put a 1/16 oz bullet weight on .

The only lure my friend has that I don't.

Senko, Texas rig or wacky, also drop shot robo worm and for sure you'll catch bass.

Roland Martin's Helicopter Lure... just make sure nobody sees you using it if you're easily embarrassed. If you do use it, follow the included VCR video instructions to a tee.

We all know that the Dancing Eel and Banjo Minnow will outfish the helicopter lure...at least in waters outside of Florida.

Just for fun, I had a Helicopter tied on up in Canada. The amount of chop-busting I endured was enormous. But I had on one that was big enough to fit that entire thing in its mouth. I just couldn't get a good hook set. I so enjoyed the crickets I heard next cause they all saw it break surface before letting go.

Postspawn and into the summer, I like to switch to a sour gummy worm.

I would rather present a crappy lure in a good location/depth/time than a great lure in a bad location/depth/time. They're bass, when they're hungry and you're around them they will eat the darndest things.

My favorite lure is the lure that works best on the day I am fishing.
