Chris & Jimmy Houston Need Our Support

Featured Replies

Hey folks,

The bass fishing community isn't very big relative to other sports.  We're really more like a big extended family.  Everyone knows each other in the industry. So when a legend is in need, we respond.

Please keep Chris and Jimmy Houston, and their family, in your thoughts and prayers.  They need all the support they can get right now.

This is very sad. Im a young buck. Hard not to look up to Mr. Houston. I have two books by him. Will send prayers to the Houston family.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Jimmy and his family.

Just saw this on youtube. I couldn't watch the whole video because of the affect it had on me. My kids grew up watching Jimmy every Sat. and what he said in the video about family is the way we feel.

My prayers for the Houston family. Thanks for letting us know Glenn.

May the doctors skill not waver, may the nurses be attentive and may Chris come out of this as well as she can be.

My prayers go out to the Houston Family!

I'll echo all the above. Jimmy is one of my all time favorite Pro anglers. Prayers sent out to the Houston family, especially to Chris... May the good Man above take care of her, and the medical staff so Chris can be well again.

Prayers for Chris, Jimmy and all of the Houston family.

Sorry for the edit, I just had the opportunity to watch the entire video. My heart breaks for Jimmy and his family. Praying that God lays his healing hands on Chris, Jimmy and the Houston family. I had the  chance to meet Jimmy years ago at a B.A.S.S. tournament on Old Hickory Lake.

I feel for him, deeply. Lost my mother to a massive, I believe the word

they used was "catastrophic" stroke back in 2015. My Dad woke up

to her in this state. Was devastating for him, my bro and sis's.

We lost her shortly thereafter, though to a better place.

So I pray for Jimmy and the Houston family. May Chris recover, or as

he says in the vid, go on to a better place, though I'll pray for her recovery.

Jimmy's show & career has been enjoyed by countless anglers. His family is in my prayers.

Sorry to hear this. Love the Houstons.  Thoughts and prayers. Been there with my Dad and I know the fear and emptiness but my Dad pulled through so we were lucky and it is proof of hope.

Man, this is horrible news.

Praying for Chris and the Houston family. Always been a big fan of Jimmy.

Just saw this. Definitely puts my thoughts on a different course this afternoon. Everything has a reason. We just aren't wise enough to know what it is.

Official update on her condition:

Sherri's Wednesday morning update
First off, thank you all for the outpouring of love and prayers. We are so very blessed as a family. Mom had a quiet night. My hubby Jack surprised me showing up to get me a room with a real bed and shower which was much needed. Dad has gone back to the ranch to rest and shower and come back this afternoon. I'm so glad about that. The docs have decreased some of the drugs so we can better assess Mom's neurological function. They sat her up for just a bit this morning. She is opening her eyes some when we talk to her. They are treating a respiratory infection discovered this morning (NOT covid). Every moment without a setback is a positive! Jack reminded me we are in a marathon not a sprint. I will try to update again this evening. Jamie and Mandi are coming up to have a picnic in the parking lot (might be lobby since it's a bit nippy in OKC today) this evening. Again, on behalf of our whole family, our company family and extended family, we say thank you from the bottom of our heart.

Terrible news.  They are in our prayers.

Terrible news. Thought and prayers to the Houston family!

This is gut wrenching considering the effect Jimmy, Bill and others had on me growing up watching their shows on the outdoors channel. I'm in my early 20s now and recently lost my grandmother to COVID-19 this past November. Possibly losing someone in this type of manner and not knowing what type of condition they're in is disturbing and nobody should have to go through it, definitely keeping Jimmy in my prayers and thoughts. He doesn't deserve this.

Prayers to the entire Houston family.  Jimmy is a class act and my brother and I were fortunate to meet and speak with him in February 2020 at the Harrisburg Show.  He was so friendly and kind, it was like we knew each other for many years.  I truly hope all goes well for them.

Terrible news. The poise, courage and honesty demonstrated by this man under such sudden adversity and agony are remarkable and impressive. The love for his wife and his deep faith are both obvious in his words and demeanor. Thoughts and prayers for the entire Houston Family.

I remember watching them fish together on his show a few times and it was always enjoyable. They seem to have so much fun together. Hopefully everything turns out okay for them.
