Painted this ride up Monday. Just ordered a big order with Alternative. Many new glides, swimbaits and crankbaits headed my way now. I am feeling a little more confident in my painting now. I have a new airbrush (gaahleri mobius 0.3) and it shoots great, so I’m enjoying painting a little more too!

This is a gill pattern (minus ear flap) on a carp glide. I was really just trying out new paints, airbrush and techniques. This was a clear blank that I didn’t put a basecoat on.

Is that a jig mold you modified to get the underspin wire to fit into?

Underspins are such an underused lure for me. I really need to use them more. Looks great man :)

Allen is into spin casting.  He probably can do a dozen of those under spins at a time.

Spincast molds are left/right silicone molds so all I have to do is lay a wire in there. Only issue is if the head is not dead center of the mold the wire will not be in the center.

Totally forgot you did spincast molds. How long do the silicone molds last? They sound like they provide easy modification such as your underspins.

Usually depends on the size of the baits. Smaller heads like 10k pours and the bigger ones  maybe half.

Working out some final details on my new bluegill pattern. This is on a family of S-Cranks. Minus eyes.

I don’t make my own lures, but here’s ‘my work’.

I’m kneeling. My station is half a block away. The building was under construction. A cabbie rang the station’s door bell and let us know the building behind us was on fire.

It went from one to five alarms in 10-15 minutes.

That was the third fire in that building. The second during my career. The picture below is before my time, somewhere in the ‘80’s.

Man, that's gorgeous work. Seriously, some of the best I've seen.

Thank you. I painted the little guy last night a little differently. I think I like the paint on the little guy better than the other three…

This is pre-eye and pre-clearcoat.

First bait I've ever painted in my life. Used an old cheap lure I had to practice. I should order some blanks.

And this was number two. Same deal. Old crap lure just practicing on.

Never did very well on that color for some reason? Only color worse for me is chartreuse blue back.
