Gentleman I found the lake Menderchucks

Featured Replies

After a lot of undercover work and sacrificing my fishing time for all of you bassheads wanting to catch giant smallmouth, I have found the famous lake Menderchucks! I was also able to hack into the Humminbirds that hold the waypoints. If you never hear from me again will you all celebrate me each year on this date? Also someone please feed Hank!

Without further a due, I present to you the Lake Menderchucks with GPS coordinates. Enjoy.

There is So Much water around me, I could fish a different lake every day of open water

and it would take me several seasons to fish them all.

Here's a pic of all the Lake Menderchucks that I've fished so far.

Knock Yourself out . . .

Lake Menderchucks ~

I haven't even ventured into the Upper Peninsula yet, which is loaded with world class fishing.

Fish Hard

I don't know how many times i've watched that Zona Live episode with KVD!

I spent some time trying to find that lake on the map using clues from the full episode, but was never able to pinpoint it.  I'm pretty sure it is south of the area covered by A-Jay's map above, though.

However, I was able to identify the lake Zona and Davy Hite are on in this episode below, which IS on A-Jay's map:

Edit: Leave the man be though! He's found his gems and everyone can find their own Menderchuck + I know that if I was on Lake Menderchuck I could not do what A-Jay does.

Zona has filmed several episodes on the lake he lives on and there are plenty of big smallmouth in that lake.

A-Jay is a sneaky dude. He knows how to cover his tracks. We can’t even confirm he lives in Michigan. All we can confirm is he’s been in an area where there’s snow for long enough to get his picture taken.

I'm too blinded by the ditch pickles down here to know what to do on a smallie fishery, but if I've learned anything from A-Jay's videos it's when in doubt, throw a bladed jig.

LOL. I am glad I do not have to contend with the bladed jig bait monkey in addition to the spinnerbait monkey. If I fished Menderchuck I am sure I would have no choice but to abide by monkey’s wishes and throw those devils.

as I recall you’ve caught some very impressive green bass on those things

Haha. I think your spots are safe for longer than you’ll be alive for. It would take more than one lifetime to cover that kind of water.

I hear ya ~ And this has been a long time running joke and I do enjoy going with it.

But the truth is these places are ALL public lakes (both large an small) that get some fishing pressure throughout the year and they are certainly not hard to find.  Any level of success I've have on any of them almost always boils down to a couple of very basic concepts.

I'm fishing in the right place, at the right time and doing the right thing.

Might take me 2 years to figure out just what that may be, but that's the deal.

There's no special technique employed, not secret bait, just head down fishing for bigger bass.

Might not be a traditional deal or even an easy type of fishing, but that may be the beauty of it.

At this point, I bet I could post where & when I was going and even what I planned to do where I get there, and I'd still be the only one at the ramp at 3 am.

Finally, and this is something I bank on, just because we may watch a Bruce Lee movie, doesn't magically make us a Kung Fu Master,.

No, I do not think you would see me there at 3.

Or back seat driver.

You definitely proved that last week when you helped that guy in the kayak with his new PB smallmouth. Until that point, I think a fair amount of us thought you were literally the only person that ever fished there.

You’re right though, I’m guessing even if it was a more popular spot near a bigger city, not many people would be there at 3am getting ready to fish. That absurd time of the day in itself probably weeds out all but the most dedicated anglers.

It's not so bad until you get up into the Jackhammer territory. You can tune even the inexpensive base model ones to have that instant startup, but the components are definitely not as nice as the Jackhammer which doesn't need tuning out of the box.

I've got a handful of nice "scorable" ones on them and it's one of my confidence baits. Very fun bite when they're fired up on it.

Ok, this was meant as kind of an April fools joke. Even if I gave away the locations of Lake Menderchuck (which I don’t know the location of any of them) you can fish them all you want but it doesn’t mean you’ll catch these trophy bass as most of you know. It takes years of trial and error, hard work, and dedication. You might get lucky once or twice by poaching a waypoint but to be consistent you need to put in the work whether it’s fish, or life in general.

Yes but knowing me I would want Jackhammers. The first chatterbaits I bought were Jackhammers. I lost all but one doing stuff that made them way too easy to snag. I don’t even know where the last one is and it looks like it’s been through hell. Never bought em again ?. They caught fish! But I fell in love with SBs and I like never lose those things so I like their efficiency.
