Lynn's in recovery. Just spoke to the surgeon.  Thankfully the

procedure was completed without complications.  Results / outcome may not be realized for several weeks.

Been a long day already and there's still a couple of hours travel to get home.

Thanks for the support.

A Little rough around the edges this morning. Thanks for asking. Morning after general anesthesia is always tough sledding for her.  Heading back so the Dr can evaluate this deal later today.  Oh and did I mention we've had no heat for a week. 24 year old unit went down. Needs complete replacement. Should be repaired tomorrow.

The hits just keep coming.

Sucks, but on the positive side, it happened in Oct. instead of Feb.

That unit served us well for a long time so really can't complain.

My alternate heat source is a wood burning stove and I have plenty of fuel for the fire.

But it was Too Warm to light that deal up.

We would roast unless it's at least below 20 degrees

and we were in the 40-60 range.

So it wasn't so bad.

Either way, we're good to go now.

Lynn's recovery as always has had a few bumps in the road.

But trending OK.

Been just over three weeks ~ and a busy / rugged three weeks.

Each week has included several eye exams, blood draws, at least two chemo infusions

as well as visits to the hematologist, rheumatologist and nephrologist.

Like just about all folks waiting for 'test results'

the waiting is mind numbing and brutal.

Almost don't want to answer the phone.

Either way, got some good news and some not so good news.

Good news, Lynn's kidney function numbers continue to improve.

Enough that she's scheduled next week to have surgery to remove the device in her leg where she was getting her treatment through. We're pretty happy about most all of that.

Not so good news.

Although the eye surgery successfully removed the blood that was in her eye,

Lynn's vision was not improving as hoped/expected.

Upon further exam, and not that the surgeon could see what was going on in there,

Lynn's retina has been irreparably damaged.

Something they couldn't see before.

So while she has 'some limited' vision back in her right eye,

unfortunately it's not nearly as significant as we were hoping for.

Much of this has taken a toll, always does but we're Still taking one day at a time

and trying to make making the best out of the cards we're dealt.

Our 25 wedding anniversary is on the 13th this month,

not sure how that's going to go.

I do know I'll be taking a break from adding anything here for a while.

At least until after the New Year anyway.

Stay Safe & Healthy.

Thanks again

A-Jay

Sorry to hear about another roller coaster ride Andy. Nothing else matters now than spending as much quality time as possible with Lynn and your pack. Take care and we’ll be here when you’re ready to come back.

Hey man, sorry just catching up on this one. Man that sux. I have retina damage in my left eye and like you said earlier; vision is a gift.

Wish I could say or do something to ease the grief you’re experiencing but unfortunately I can’t. All I can do is sit on the sideline hoping, like all here, for positive outcomes.

It's been a full 2 months and Lynn's been holding altitude & flying level.

The area where she had surgery to remove the device in her leg where she was getting her

dialysis treatment through is just about healed.

We had the 'final' post surgical eye appointment last week and while there's still nearly zero vision recovered, the eye has healed without further complications from the procedure.

Lynn got some eye glasses (one actual lens) from the VA to help correct the vision in her one good eye.  She seems pretty satisfied with how that went.

The rest of this week we continue in a holding pattern.

Next week it's blood work, Hematologist app, and the bi-monthly infusion.

We're hoping for decent weather, perhaps something a little warmer

than the single digit stuff we're getting this week.

So as we always say here, no news is good news.

Stay Healthy & Safe.
