@WRB

Thanks, Tom.  I remember messaging with you about the loss of your son.  Such a terrible loss!  I hope all is going well for you.

My plan is to use all of you to get as much information as possible, then disappear.

Years ago I befriended a guy in our local bass club.  He had a terrific sense of humor and we became great friends and fierce competitors.  Whenever we would go fishing together, I would pepper him with questions. He always said "You just want to suck out all my secrets and leave me a hollow shell on the beach!"    You had to be there...   😅

@everythingthatswims was/is such a skilled angler and really does seem to enjoy targeting all species. I enjoyed my conversations with him and his post and still follow his YouTube videos.

@Fish Chris was a terrific angler and photographer. I miss the pictures of his monster catches.

@SirSnookalot was another regular that I'm afraid stopped fishing due to medical reasons. I enjoyed his post alot.

Can you send me a PM for @everythingthstswims’ YT channel please?  He was one of my favorites for on here years ago.

I'm an old timer with age but not much of a contributer 😳.

I sneak in and gain knowledge and then flee. 😂

I was gone from the forum for three years.  I never had a lot to contribute.  I spent the last three years in the pnw mostly fly fishing.  Caught some bass and panfish by accident.   Moved back home to MS in Oct.  I need to buy a kayak or canoe.

Anyway, I am retirement age but working a full-time job and also as a consultant.   Loving it.  It is not like I dig ditches.

I am glad to be back on this site.  You guys are great!

We also lost my wife's daughter a couple of years ago.  A loss like that puts things in perspective.

"Simple" things like fishing, gardening, lure making, or whatever you are into are more important than you think. Family, pets, work, hobbies and your faith make up your life.  Sharing with like minded people stimulates me.

Amen, brother.

Beware! Viewing @AlabamaSpothunter's bass might overstimulate you. All his big bass have had that effect on me. I have to whip out my fan like a church lady and flutter my face when I view his toads or I'm likely to do this:

Well I'm an old timer now so I've been told, just not here :drinking-62:

I emailed him about 6 months ago & at that time both him & Lois were doing well. He was a great contributor with a very analytical mind.

A gone know what happened to @bigbill?

Anyone know what happened to @avid? he always had some great fishing tips and some humorous insight.

One day, even @Dwight Hottle will be gone from Bass Resource and people will say, "What happened to Mighty Dwight? He always had some great fishing tips and some humorous insight."

And I'll say, "I heard he attacked and ate a bear. A griz. And he wanted more, so headed up into those high, ghosty hills lookin' for more. Some say he's up there still."

And then I'll provide GIF proof of my assertion:

has been continually evolving.  Even the tone and texture of topics & posts has changed some over the past 15 years or so.  Have to expect it.

However the one constant has been the spirit of friendly good-fellowship.

 #camaraderie

I miss several establish members who have moved on to other deals.

@Fish Chris  @everythingthatswims just to name a couple.

This is the only 'forum' I am a member of.

It's the only place I choose to spend my time reading & contributing.

The reason is easy to understand.

The membership is the best and I enjoy that.

Couldn’t have said it better. I’m a sponsor but would be here regardless. Great community especially considering the trash you can encounter online.

I'm not an old timer here, but because I got back into fishing last year after a long break, I joined here. I am on several gun forums and on bladeforums, also a woodworking forum. These are my passions, and I want to talk about them, read about them, and contribute where I can.

For guns, I am on several forums, with 1 being primarily dedicated to casting/reloading. Then several forums are of interest because they focus on my love of leverguns. One forum, I just liked the folks. Another... when I had my old phone and it didn't work well, I joined because it was the only one that would work on my phone. I still talk there regularly. Some I talk on daily, some not so much.

I've made friends off forums before, some are very good friends now. I enjoy the community here. Thanks to all who contribute.

Always enjoy coming to the site. Sometimes I go a while in between looking at anything, but it has always served as a home base; similar to what A-Jay pointed out.  The only shame with it all is not having convenient opportunities to do some casual fishing with members here. A bit of a bummer. That is probably the main reason it can be easy to go months without logging on. No matter what though, must give my hat off to Glenn for keeping this site relevant for so many years.

Hard to cast & do texting at the same time ?  It is for this 86 year old Catch and Release. Most fishing men and woman are open to small talk about other things.

My passion this summer is a all out fishing with minnows and shiners.  I need a good day of meal sized fish for restricted movement great old guys and gals.  Giving of myself feels great when their faces light up at a full stringer.   👍

I guess I would consider myself an old-timer on here.  I don't post much anymore but I read.  I used to sell reels on the flea market but can't access it anymore which is too bad.  Still a great site.

This site is one of the oldest bass fishing sites there is, probably the longest running bass sites. I have only been a member a few years but I’ve lurked since around 2002. I would sit in the library in high school and “do homework”, surfing fishing sites. I’ll mention them because they had significance, at least to me, and they no longer exist. But dad and I were heavy on the BPS forums and developed friendships and met some folks. I wonder what happened to a lot of the people. BFHP was a huge site that had been around since early World Wide Web. Too bad that one is gone but the web site was archaic. Have ran into a few old members from there on other forums.

I think forums have changed over the years and are less popular overall. This one was always good, but it also took the place of several others, including the ones I mentioned.

I almost can’t believe that the senko is not the hottest topic of conversation anymore, it was incredible the amount of questions surrounsing that lure across all forums.

The only thing that is guaranteed is change.
