Maybe this model isn't new but its the first I've seen that can handle a 500 hp outboard.  Seems slightly ridiculous.

As the saying goes...." If you have to ask the price...you definitely can't afford it"...kind of boat.

1.8 MPG at top speed.   2.7 MPG at 30 mph which is the top speed I’m comfortable with most of the time.  That comes out to a little over a $1 a mile at 30 mph.  So it would cost me about $3 just to get out of the creek that I usually launch in and another $3 to get back to the ramp.  I guess someone that pays $200K for a boat is not worried about gas money.

Five years ago I would have been shocked that a bass boat would cost $200k.  I kind of miss that.

If you never start the outboard and just use the trolling motor to get around,  the operating costs would not be that bad.  😆

 

In the opening of that video, look how low the stern of the boat is sitting in the water and how high up the nose it. I can’t imagine fishing like that. It’s like walking up a hill to get to the trolling motor.

now think about when you see the big boats with 4x 400 hp on the back or even more. At 30 mph and $1 a mile that’s $1 every two minutes with 6x400’s that’s $3 a minute for THIRTY MILES PER HOUR.

Haha I noticed that too.  Whole lotta weight on the transom of that thing with a 500 back there.

Two things I noticed-

 

1. It looks almost comically out of balance with that 500. Nose high, porpoises on the run through from the drone view. Maybe a case of just because you could, doesn’t mean you should.

2. Bass Cat needs a new audio consultant for their videos. That music was either from an 80s porno or 90s B movie slasher.

C. They are very nice boats. 

Another interesting fact, you can’t just order one equipped like that.  The owner of BassCat, Rick Pierce, has to approve the sale.  On our recent trip to St Clair, one of the first timers brought his boat.  A Bullet with a 300 race 2 stroke.  Thing sounded like a NASCAR unit when he fired it up.  He kept his need for speed under control and it did well but stacked against a Mercury 4 stroke 250 and an Evenrude 2 stroke HO, he learned a new thing about fuel consumption.  He ran it out of fuel once. 😂

Said it before and I'll say it again, speaking just for me, anything that I drop over $70k on will have a zip code. 

Some lakes I fish are so small that boat wouldn't be able to reach to speed or even get on plane. But 500hp, the water better be smooth as glass.
