How much do you pay for watercraft registration?

Featured Replies

Thought it would be interesting to see what individuals across the country pay their state to own/operate a watercraft.  I just received my renewal notification in the mail and the cost is $75.60 for the next 3 years.  That comes out to $25.20 for each year.

I feel as though its a very reasonable cost to have a fishing boat.  Heck, I'd pay more of they charged more.

I renewed my boat insurance through Progressive in December and the cost of that was $182.  I find that to be very reasonable too for a whole year.  They have a vanishing deductible if you don't submit a claim and mine is down to zero now.  I've never submitted a claim.

$44 for 2 yrs, under 16’. $66 for 2 yr, 16’-26’’.

Totally agree and wouldn't hit the water without it either ... Mine is thru Progressive as well

The vanishing deductible is a new one on me...I probably have it and didn't realize it. Now I have homework to do, thanks a lot! :)

Pro-V Bass ~ Boat, Motor & Trailer in MI

Trailer ~  one time tag (never expires) fee $75

3 yr vessel registration ~ $42

Annual Insurance for boat, motor & trailer (With Progressive thru USAA) $369

and I'm at the Zero deductible now.

Also there's the Tow vehicle REG (Disabled Veterans no cost) but the insurance is not.

Now if I could just get one of those free gas cards.

Gotta pay to play.

I pay $39 for two years. I renew my boat policy in March so I can’t comment on that.

Boat registration is $25/year. Registration for the trailer for a year is $109

I just glanced at the fees - Bass Trek is smaller, so it'd be around $50 for three years - so $17 a year. My trailer has a lifetime tag, so no more paying for that, and my Insurance through Farmers is $125 a year.

So a bit under $150 a year...ya, I'll pay that and be happy.

Here in Arkansas, for a 16’ to 26’ boat it’s $15.00 for three years. If my boat was 15’ and under, $5.00 for three years.

They make it up with personal property taxes. Pay those every year.

Because my boat is under 16’ I pay $22.50 in New York State.

Indiana

Once registered you only pay the renewal fee every year. Then add the trailer, which is about $40 per year.

So renewal on my Sportspal canoe  and trailer is around $50 per year.
