Don’t people work and go to school?? I always wondered how a million people could skip work or class all at once to attend a parade.

In other words, you wanted the Patriots to win?

Same happened the last time the Pats won the SB.

I’ve skipped school just to not catch a trout

They were talking about the situation yesterday as far as skipping school not being an excused absence. It turns out a whole lot of teachers skipped school as well as the students.

I don't know man, I try not to have regrets but not making the 2005 Whitesox parade is up there, and yes work got in the way. The 2010 Hawks ticker tape parade I went solo and had the happiest day drinking day ever. Supposedly 2 million were on the route, it was beautiful chaos. I still work today.

I went to the parade the last time the chiefs won it. Not a fan of them but my son is. It was not family oriented at all. Drugs Booze and all the other stuff . Then we heard the gun shots and tried to get out of there. The police were so undermanned. So every time I see these deals I hope they all go well ,It can turn ugly in a blink of eye .

Wow, that's not a good situation. I was concerned about that too, but the local law enforcement agencies reported ZERO incidents and arrests during the event. Kinda amazing when you think about it - that many people packed together....many drinking too. But everyone remained civil. It was just one big party.

I guess that destroys the whole narrative that West Coast cities are lawless and full of domestic terrorists. LOL!

Teams are furiously hiring/firing coaching staff in hopes of making a run at the Super Bowl. The combine and draft is right around the corner.  Will your team make it into the playoffs?

KC's O-Line problems were exploited by the Eagles and Bills.  Will they be able to fix it during the off season?

As for my Seahawks, they fired 1st year offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, replacing him with Klint Kubiak, but their offensive fortunes aren’t likely to change all that much if they don’t get better offensive line play in 2025. Geno Smith was sacked 50 times and the Seahawks run game ranked 28th in the league thanks in part to a group that failed to consistently provide protection or open up holes at the line of scrimmage.

Speaking of which, the 'Hawks running backs are average at best.  Fortunately this year's draft is rich with running back talent that should go deep into the 7th round.  So this their chance to improve the running game.  Lord knows they need it with interception-happy Geno Smith! LOL

Just thought I would ask, which one of these average running backs got Superbowl MVP. Lol

Me too! A happy mistake. )

I don't think anyone predicted a Seahawks/Patriots Superbowl matchup at the beginning of the year.

Thought I'd share this here.

I'm an avid football fan and it's the only TV I watch during the year other than some old westerns on Amazon prime.

Every year as soon as the SB is over the wife calls and cancels our paid TV services which is $187 per month.

Come Sep 9 we'll have it reinstalled. 😁

I do similar. Come the start of the season I get Prime, for both Xmas shipping and the Prime games, I cancel it as soon as they end. I also get SlingTV for the month of the college championship that are only on ESPN.

Well I guess the rumors were true...

The Estate of Paul G. Allen today announced it has commenced a formal sale process for the Seattle Seahawks NFL franchise, consistent with Allen’s directive to eventually sell his sports holdings and direct all Estate proceeds to philanthropy. The Estate has selected investment bank Allen & Company and law firm Latham & Watkins to lead the sale process, which is estimated to continue through the 2026 off-season. NFL owners must then ratify a final purchase agreement.

I didn't want to believe it, but here we are. That's disappointing. I was hoping for another superbowl run, but I don't see that happening now. It is what it is. That said, it would be awesome if the 'Hawks were owned by the people like Green Bay. We shall see.

On another note, now that the season is over, shall I close this one out and start a new 2026 thread?

The timing worked perfectly for them considering winning the SB and passing a deadline that would give the state 10% of the proceeds.

All about the money.

With free agency opening in 2 weeks and the draft after that I would.

Mike
