My newest acquisition as I feed my addiction of the Japanese made Alphas reels, 2016 Alphas Air 7.2.  I scored this guy on a Japanese auction site for not much over $100 to my door, not a scratch on it other than the tiny chip in the line guide ring, which was 100% my fault (butter fingers).  I cleaned it, lubed it, and installed a drag clicker.

Got me a couple shallow spools to try. One for my SV105 Rays studio and another for T3 Roro X.  Havent decided what line to put on them yet. IMG_5131.jpg.3fbc415a5269857650b5caf5c46fbcaf.jpgIMG_5133.jpg.c5db164c79e7317b71a586d8802e5230.jpgIMG_5136.jpg.3a633cd6caec19360677a5359f01ec6b.jpg

Ok so I got some 8 pound Berkley X5 for the Titanium RORO X.

The X5 box states .004in  .10mm

Rated line capacity for the Ti RORO X is  #0.8---80m

I was able to just squeeze a measured 200 feet on the spool with the spool still able to be pulled out of reel and go back in.

Ill take full spool to work and get the weight.

I love Berkley X5 and X9, but the diameters on the box are way off unless you are going by the 号 "goh" number.  I use the 6lb (0.8号) and 8lb (1.0号) on my finesse casting reels.  The 6lb is of a similar diameter to 2lb mono and the 8lb is closer to 3lb diameter even though Berkley prints the US and EU diameters on them as being the equivalent to frog's hair.

With Duel X-wire PE#0.8, I had no problem fitting 100 m of 16-lb test braid.

So I know I’ve posted pics of both the rod and reel which I have officially fished both but not together.  I just finally put it together on Memorial Day.  Can’t wait to try this Sonny & Cher combo out? #love a color match? I cannot thank @FrnkNsteenenough for making me “an offer I couldn’t refuse” on the rods. This pic is 1 of the 2 combos for the upcoming season ?

I loved the Cardinal 3...I fished them up until just a few years ago.

I believe these are 3 years old? This was the model prior to the newest version.

Thats about right. I'd say 3 or 4 years. Bought them at BPS spring classic sale the same year they were offering the silver and blue  special edition Pro Qualifier 2s

I had and sold one of these years ago. This is the only reel that I have ever sold that I have regretted afterword. After quite a few years though I have finally got my hands on another one. This is a ~2003 Abu Garcia 5600 D5. These were Swedish made, and were almost like the Daiwa zero adjust(just way older) in that you don’t adjust the spool tension. The only adjustment is in the magnetic braking system, and it works very well.

Almost done with the old 51-sized round reels from Shimano. My first centrifugal brake BFS reel. Will use it with aerodynamic lures like stick and twich baits.

Never heard of either of those but they are pretty sweet. What are your plans for it?
