You have several top contenders in the $200ish rod segment....I'm sure folks will want to know how they compare, especially in the sensitivity department.
22RangerZ520R
Got the new Stella FK 3000 last week. I didn't think they could get any smoother than my FJ's, but they are! Going to pair them up on Conquest 902S's. Can't wait to get up north and fight sone 5lb+ smallies with them!

PaulVE64
I picked up the new for '21 Nasci HG. Tight reel for sub $100. Feels smother than my Daiwa BG and all of the LT series reels I have. Nicely done by Shimano.

Dangerfield
Sold almost all of my rigs last month except a couple of gems that are staying in the arsenal. It was sad to see my Fury 735c go, caught my PBs on that rig but 8.3.1 was too fast for me in almost every occasion and I didn't need a dedicated frog rod, although it's plenty stout for jig duties, I prefer the slower action on the Lew's. and it manages bigger swimbaits better and it's lighter and more sensitive AND I paid less than half price for it. This lead me to get a shorter version, a little faster action AND another steal of a deal. It will be way more versatile than the AG Ike Delay. Which was too much of a wet noodle, and I was thrilled to get it off my hands. Don't get me wrong, it's a great shallow cranking or a jerkbait rod, but terrible for everything else. Out with the sold: Fury 735c + Fuego CT 8.3.1 AG Ike Delay 7 MM + Tatula CT 5.5.1 Fury 703sf + Shimano Sedona In with the new (L-R): Lew's Custom Lite Speed Stick Magnum Jig 7'3" MHMF (old) + Tatula 100 7.3.1 + 65lb PP Maxcuatro Lew's Custom Lite Speed Stick Spinnerbait 6'11" MHF + Tatula 100 7.3.1 + 40lb PP Maxcuatro Daiwa Aridto TR 7' MF + Fuego LT 2500 (old) + 14lb Sufix Nanobraid Shimano Zodias 7' MHF (old) + Fuego LT 3000D I've put in an order on another Ardito TR MF this time I'll be looking to get a casting rod and I'll have the perfect travel set. Probably pair that with a Fuego CT 6.3.1 for reaction baits because I need one back in my arsenal, rock solid reel.

I was super hyped when they announced this one. First things that came to mind with the shallow spool were flipping, pitching and punching. Then I saw that it has aluminum gears and that ruined the whole deal for me unfortunately.

JohnFromLisbon
I needed a good t-rig rod (well, needed is a strong word) so I took a 3 hour round trip to a little store to pick these up. It's my first current GLX. Considering my track record with the NRX in 2020 and the Expride last year, you can now look forward to the GLX line being refreshed next year. And on Thursday I placed an order with TW for a light Simms jacket (the Flyweight Access hoody) in blue, because I have the black one and love that thing, plus some U-40, fluorocarbon line, and a few more odds and ends. As soon as my order was processed the jacket got $80 cheaper because of their "Winter Apparel Blowout Sale". Called them up yesterday and they were cool enough to apply the discounted price.

Super User bulldog1935 Posted March 31, 2022 Super User Share Posted March 31, 2022 this is too cool to not show. I built my braid-raced 4600 from a new, boxed Royal Express II. I finally put together the rod I wanted for it - Smith Super Strike with the offset handle made just for Abu, and a copy of the original Fenwick Champion handle (made in magnesium). I ran into a problem with the graphite foot - the design of the Super Strike seat (and the old Champion) bends the graphite-filled plastic foot and spits it off the rod - not all the time, but enough to make it annoying. It's funny that you can't bend the foot by hand, but the vise-clamp of the reel seat design bows the plastic. No problem with the normal Abu metal foot. I always knew I might hate the plastic foot, and could easily move the reel to another frame. btw, this combo is a skipping fool with a reverse spiral cast... Found a great NOS frame buy in UK, and for what I have in the reel, and what I get out of it, the $30 with airmail was insignificant. At the vendor's good prices, I had a choice of gold-finish or maroon. Turns out the metal-foot frame is just as light. I went with the maroon, and I though this came out trick - kinda looks like a black cherry.

Fished the Nanoace/Aldebaran all day and it allowed me to throw a Super Fluke Jr. and a 3" Bass Assassin with a 2/0 Gamakatsu EWG approximately 30 yards. It feels like more of a Medium light power to me. I caught 24 on it with the big LM going 4 lb 13 oz and the big Spot an even 3 lbs and it handle them well. I like it.
