Favorite Bourbon distillery.....
I’m a fan of Makers 46. I also am partial to Russell’s Reserve and most of the Kickin’ Chicken flock.

creek smallie lures
T-rigged trick worm, gp with gold flake. Weightless unless you’re over 4-5 ft of depth. Fish it like a jerkbait/fluke.

Who's bass fishing videos do you like on youtube?
Dieter Melhorn Fishing and Kayak Catfish are a couple of my favs. I’d still rather be fishing than watching.

2025 National Safe Boating Week ~
It’ll never make ALL the difference, but if it makes SOME difference then it’s worth it.

2025 National Safe Boating Week ~
Mildly ironic that it’s the week before Memorial Day weekend, when boat season really kicks off

Reel Maintenance Mega Thread
I just wanted to say I have those same plates for feeding the kid… He’s driving now so I can probably use them for other things…

Road To The Superbowl 2026
SCHEDULE’S OUT YALL!!! How the Pats got more than a dozen cupcakes is anyone’s guess. Also, the Cowboys 2nd half of the season is BRUTAL.

That’s just the payoff for trading Luka to the Lakers…

I saw a guy load his kayak and drive away so quickly.
I feel like one of you enterprising fellas could make a little rail system that slides out the bed of your truck that you can then slide your yak down to launch. Anyone? Anyone?

Split Shot Rig (Line Twist) - Bluegills
Is the swivel above or below the split shot? Above (towards the reel from the split shot) may help you with twist but I’ve never had a problem with it. Are you using a round or oblong shot? Don’t use the split shot with the ‘ears’. Is your soft plastic rigged straight?

Curado MGL Gear Issues
I would send it to @Delaware Valley Tackle for a refresh and let him tell you if something is really wrong or it just needs some careful attention. You shouldn’t be needing to regrease gears after two trips even if you submerged it in saltwater.

Fess up!
1. Teach your kids about the safe usage of the internet and social media. You can try to ban it, but you are doing them a disservice. It isn’t going anywhere. It is like alcohol/firearms/reproduction. 2. Talk to them about their conversations with adults, be it teachers, coaches, parents, etc. You don’t need a transcript but it helps assess if anything is weird. If you think anything is weird, ask about it in a non-accusatory/angry/Nugent(😀)way. 3. Trust them unless they give you a good reason not to, and then work back to trusting them (this goes for most humans). Most of us were idiots in youth. Those that weren’t were pretty boring (😀). Having them scared to tell you things is counterproductive. 4. We do sleepovers, but I don’t have daughters. Try to teach them how to do things responsibly, and be there to help if things don’t go right. We have a ‘no questions asked no reprisals’ if he needs me to come get him from any situation. The world is a big scary place, but somehow humans are expanding…This went deep quick. I am only stalking @TnRiver46 and @T-Billy

Fishing jigs in bodies of water that don’t have crawfish.
My Tennessee intuition actually makes me think that the craws in FL are larger than in some of the cooler climates and as such, bass avoid big displays of claws as you might see with a Rage Craw or Lobster. Just not worth the heartburn when food is plentiful. Beavers look more like soft shells trying to get away and are more appealing as a less problematic food source. best explanation I can come up with…ymmv

Fishing jigs in bodies of water that don’t have crawfish.
There are craws or their cousins everywhere all over the globe. They are like cockroaches. It is extremely unlikely in FL that there aren’t craws in that pond unless there is a significant chemical problem. That said, beavers work better for me in Florida too. I can’t really explain it.

Backing Down the Boat Ramp
You just have to swallow your pride and do it several times. It may go poorly, it may go well. But each time you do it, you will get better at it and learn your boat and trailer.

Swapping hooks on inline spinners
That split ring also keeps them from bending up Roostertails as much.

Must have lures
If you’re gonna fish one box- that’s be a great line-up - you could fish forever with just those.

Gen 5 Abu Revo premiere
That’s a lot of rod for a balsa square bill unless it’s a giant square bill.
