Mechanical issues.

Haven't been to KY lake in quite a few years. I fished it 4 or 5 times and was never disappointed. My PB of just under 7lbs was caught there in early April. If you do go, you have to stop at Marquita's Place for breakfast or dinner. A little hole in the wall diner that serves good food at a good price.

Patience can't be taught. You either have it or you don't. Fishing is no different than gambling. Put your dollar into the slot machine, cast your lure into the water. The retrieve is the same as watching the wheels on the slot machine turn. Every cast you make, you are hoping the 3 cherries will line up and you get the jackpot. And, just like gambling, if you're not at the right place at the right time and the stars aren't all in alignment, you lose. Speaking for the old guys...I've caught so many fish that it just doesn't matter anymore. I'm like a billionaire playing penny slots. Winning is nice but I don't need to win. Just showing up does it for me.

I could be wrong but when the dealer orders the boat he's going to order it bare bones so he can get the mark up on the equipment he installs. Why give the factory the profit if the dealer can get it. Also, if it's ordered bare bones it's and easier sale. Let's say you're a Humminbird guy and the boat came rigged with Lowrance. That might be a deal breaker. Let's say you're a noobie to boats. The $3000 graph might be a deal breaker where a $300 graph would do.

Safety first means the safety of everyone on the water, not just you. I believe you'd still need some kind of remote or remote switch to turn power on/off when a vessel approaches, since you are not a commercial vessel. If you've ever been out at night, and it sounds like you have some experience, then you know that light kills night vision which is one of the reasons for the laws. I went from a 12v halogen spotlight to a high end rechargeable 1000 lumen tactical light and I have no complaints. It's light and less bulky and I'd bet I could see 100 yards in front of me.

You can drill all the holes you want in a Lund and it will still get you across the lake The dealer has already paid for the boats on the showroom floor. I'm sure he'd rather sell you that one rather than an ordered boat.

Unless you're planning on dumping it in a year or two, why are you concerned about it holding it's value? A boat is not an investment. The boat is already 9 years old. All the big depreciation has already happened. If you believe the price is fair and it is mechanically sound and you like the layout, don't worry about reselling it and just enjoy it.

Dad can drink a cup of coffee and have to pee every 10 minutes for 2 hours because of his prostate. Something I have to look forward to. He does have a little bit of a balance issue and always sits when he's in the boat. I just booked a walleye charter on Lake Erie and opted for a outfit with a 30+ foot boat rather than a 20ft boat. I figured he would enjoy it more if he doesn't have to sit the entire time.
