  1. From what I have seen if it involves more than using a computer or cell phone the younger generation doesn't want to be bothered with it or know where to start.
  2. I usually have better luck with a Sworming Hornet underspin and a small swim bait than either a spinner bait or chatter bait.
  3. Hello and welcome to the forum. There are plenty of west coast guys on here to help you out.
  4. I have one close to me. I thought they might go out when Cabelas came to town. That was the best thing that could have happened to them. Their business increased once Cabelas came here. They have a much better selection of many baits. Now they are selling a lot of kayaks too.
  5. The bait monkey is calling to you. You need to go again. You need to go again. There are more baits waiting for you.
  6. Don't wear bright red. The fish will see you coming a mile away.
  7. I would rather be fishing hard baits. I have learned to quit being hard headed and switch to soft plastics or jigs when need be. I don't throw spinner baits a lot anymore. I feel like some places have been spinner baited to death and fish won't hit on them much anymore.
  8. I've had my heat on for 3 days now. Glad I didn't wait any longer try it. Found out the heat did not work. I had to replace a faulty control circuit board to get it working.
  9. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  10. I can't remember the last time I fished from a bank. Now my knees have arthritis so bad I can't bank fish. I have to sit down to fish when in the boat. I have to be extremely careful as to how I move around in the boat. For you young brats out there getting old is no fun. I have now reached the point where my mind says I can do that and my body says what are you thinking.
  11. I learned fishing with jigs is a joke. I used one the other day and made 5 or 6 casts with it before I caught one on it. LOL
  12. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  13. I would think he had the shotgun in case a gator or poisonous snake was in one of the vehicles.
  14. I have caught bass on Bandit and Bomber crank baits in baby bass color. I have trick worms, super flukes, and swimming flukes in baby bass color and can't get a fish to look at them.
  15. She would have looked like granny on the Beverly Hillbillies.
  16. I never use a trailer or trailer hook. I have my best luck slow rolling a spinner bait.
  17. I only use oil on mine. AS DVT said I worry about grease holding a lot of dirt and being that much harder to clean off. I put a couple of drops of reel oil on mine when I go fishing.
  18. Hello and welcome to the forum. The bait monkey will really love you.
  19. I prefer centrifugal brakes. I have two reels with magnetic brakes. I don't use the magnetic brakes on them. I keep them turned off.
  20. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  21. I have some old shotgun shells that were made in cardboard or paper type shells. I have shot some of them at targets to get rid of them and they all fired fine without any problems. As long as the shells are stored in dry environment they should be fine.
  22. I like the Zoom ultra vibe speed craw and the twin tail grub. I got lucky and caught a bass today on the PB&J color with an Alabama craw colored trailer.
  23. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  24. I have not been able to fish the Kentucky River at all this year. We have had so much rain the river has stayed up and muddy most of the year. We already have about 8" or 10" more right now than we get for the whole year. We have had 14" of rain since September 1st. The fishing has not been real good on the river for several years now due to it raining so much here.
  25. I use a 5:1 reel for crank baits and have no problems with it. I feel anything else is too fast for crank baits. I recently saw an article by Dave Fritts saying that about 20 or 21 IPT was the ideal speed for crank baits. If you are using really deep diving baits a faster reel turns it in to work really quickly.
