About a month ago, the big swimbait addiction pretty much took ahold of my entire fishing brain, over that time I usually only take the swimbait rig, a second "fun" rig", and a fanny pack.

Got my first real deal premium swimbait on Saturday after finally winning the "lottery" on a KGB TSG drop.   To date this is my biggest bait at 9" and 3.5".   Today was the second time out with it, and the following video occurred about 2 hours total into fishing this bait.

Shook a 4-5lb fish, two casts later I land a 8.14 on it, my second biggest fish of the year.   She threw the bait in the net, absolute perfect catch, zero trauma on her, and she swam away full of vigor in 83d water.    I enjoyed the glow on the water for about 30mins, but I basically quit after that fish......I couldn't help but feel incredibly blessed, and thankful, didn't want to ruin a perfect day.  I shook today better than I have in months, and overall one of the best shakes I can remember.   What an absolute drug :)

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

@AlabamaSpothunter wait and see when you catchem on Hinkles and Debs 250.

Great catches and nice fishery. The place I aim fishing the most of the times not having more that 5 or 6lber LMB. But I have plan to go out with rental boat chasing some giants with big glides.

Thanks!   Those Hinkles are crazy money, but man I'd love to have one.   Need a Deps 250, can't have a good collection without one it seems.

You're in the right state for monsters, look forward to you posting one up ?

I mean, razor woulda been fine too. We coulda rolled with it. Instead of saying “that dude’s a hammer,” we’d say “that guy really gave those bass a shavin”

@hokiehunter373 Did I miss a post about you finally getting that boat? Or am I having a “moment”? ? Sorry about your rod. But with that boat, your catches are going to go up for sure.

Forecast here starting Thursday. Ugh!

Got these before dinner. Snake head ate a d**n zoom speed worm, the whole worm down its throat. That’s not going to come out nice haha.

Man that is brutal.  I thought it was warm here when it was 84.  I'd be hiding in my basement with the AC blasting.

Do us a favor and get rid of that metal j hook on your scale.  Please use a clamp instead.

Fishing with your pop and your dog? Man, you scored! Sorry I couldn't leave a reaction. I'm all out.

What was it like fishing in that raft? Was it stiff enough to give you some support?

This is my boat/raft/whatever lol. Small (7’), lightweight, and with the optional plywood floor, relatively stable. Takes about two minutes to inflate it with the foot pump. I modded it with spacer.pnga 7” seat pedestal and a seat to get me up higher than the included inflatable seat and use a yak paddle vs the oars. I have had some bass pull me around in it lol. Also added a two-rod holder, so two rods there and one rod under each side of the seat (plus one in the hand) and I can fish with five rigs. Great for ponds. Not so much for big lakes, but I’ve had it on a small lake (200 acres) and did ok.

I love it, Brian! What's the weight?

Per Sea Eagle’s website: “Better than a floating tube! This packraft is a completely dry enclosed hull that weighs only 22 lbs. Fully loaded with floorboard, oars, and seat a mere 32 lbs.”

Rode over to a friend's place this afternoon to help him work on his hay irrigation setup. Well he has three ponds so I of course took a rod with a KGB Chad Shad and boy did it pay off with a couple giants.?

They are aggressive little buggers. I got one where my worm was almost as long as the fish haha.

This one was every bit of 3lbs. Hooked him tonight when that sun got at that “golden angle,” on a TX-rigged Black Grape Zoom Trick Worm with a 1/8 weight. Didn’t have my scale to tell how far north of 3 it was, but felt awful nice to catch one with a big ole mouth, again.

But better still, my nephew caught his first bass tonight! Started him fishing last year, and he’s caught plenty of panfish in creeks, but always watching me catch bass I’m targeting.

I was determined to solidify his obsession by returning to this spot tonight and coaching him on picking apart cover, and it paid off. He also lost a big one right as I hooked this one. Pretty crazy we were fighting good fish at the same time.

But in a way, for the purpose of keeping him addicted, it’s even better it happened that way—he’s already insisting his was way bigger than mine. ?
