TW has $1k Evergreen Synergy rods I wouldn't even sniff at the JDM price because of high weight (7'M 1/4-1oz = 6oz!) Agree. If I'm paying $300+/rod, it better be light. So to see these lesser expensive rods weighing so little, that's impressive.

I still love my Expride's, Orochi's etc, but there are some real gems to be had nowadays in the less expensive group. The Tharp is definitely one of them, and I'm willing to bet the Invoker Tour won't disappoint, either. It's a 7' MH/XF. It comes in at a very impressive 4.05 oz. That's lighter than my 7'1 MH Kistler Helium (NFC blank) which weighs 4.10 oz. Another thing I love about these rods is the hook keeper. Probably my favorite style. Are those new reel seats on the Invoker tour's the same as the Tharp series? They look the same to me on the website. I was disappointed to see them changed from the Invoker pro series. I found those seats VERY comfortable.

Have you held these new ones yet? I also loved the old reel seat on the previous model, so I was worried when I saw they changed them. But I find these just as, if not more, comfortable. They're also lighter.
Super User T-Billy Posted May 14 Super User Share Posted May 14 I haven't had a chance to check out the new models yet @NorthernBasser. I'm really liking the old model Invoker 7'11" XH Flippin stick though. I got two during the BOGO sale. It's the Invoker version of the Okeechobee Special.

Yeah, if you liked the old Tharps/Invokers, I think you'll be quite pleased with the new as well.

IcatchDinks
This thread is named "victim support thread" but I think we're all just enabling and encouraging each other's addiction. I approve. You all make some mighty fine purchases. 5

Jmurphy87
Well I was at my old local Walmart and saw the micro square bill and figured that it would be good for my bfs setup chasing smallies or a pike will bite me off or get it hung up. But I am going to try lol, not a fan of the brand but it was only $4. I also got a pack of shim-e-sticks in Smokey shad. I found the spoon on a rock while fishing and didn’t want a squirrel or some other rodent or bird to get tangled in it.
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted May 19 Super User Share Posted May 19 Hello there They are here Only complaint is the packaging. Tails are bent out of the bags. Nothing I can’t fix with some boiling water. They did send some complementary bait glue which is much appreciated. Once again, these are 8” 3:16 mission fish swimbaits in the following colors: Hitch, Dark Hitch, Clear Lake Ghost. I will say that Hitch and Dark Hitch are so close in color when I see them in person that I consider having both redundant.
lynxcat
Made a large Tacklewarehouse order this week. I wanted to find some better swimbaits for swim jigs. Variety of sizes and colors but basically a $160 order of… Xzone Swammers Gambler EZ Vibez Gambler EZ Swimmer Zoom Fluke Zman Paddlerz A bunch of mini max in 1/4 ounce. Needed to restock this winner. Flukes are perfect trailer for these. I got a couple packs of the Zman ZWG swimbait hooks and I’ve been very impressed thus far. Really holds the bait in place. A few other soft plastics but those are the bunch. I caught a 5+ lber today a @Siebert Outdoors swim jig paired with the white swammer 4”
swhit140
A little restock on some soft plastics, the vegetation at a couple of lakes that I fish are thicker than usual. So I've been pitching these baits with 1/2oz-1oz weights to punch through the thick stuff.
bp_fowler
An Academy is opening up near me and today they had a 20% soft opening sale. I decided to go check it out and promised the wife I wouldn’t spend too much. I resupplied my Senkos and Trick Worms, as well as some UV Speed Worms, and more natural colored Rage Swimmers which I’m itching to try out this week. I’m new to cranking this year and the most recommended here at BR was the KVD 1.5, they have performed as advertised. The chartreuse black/blue have been especially good to me. Also I got a chance to handle a Shimano SLX casting rod in person. It’s one of the several rods I’m considering buying soon to replace my old 7’ MH/F multi purpose BC and I’ll tell you what after today it may have moved up to #1 on my list just based on the looks and feel.

I like your style. Always handle a rod before purchasing. It’s like trying on shoes.
Jmurphy87
I had to restock ona couple more things, after the outing I had yesterday. I caught a decent fish after 2 hours of struggling to connect with the bites. I figured that it had to be down to a geometry issue of too big of hook versus the size of plastic. 2 packs 4.2 sweet beavers Houdini, Spanish fly 2 packs air tail wiggler 6.5” trophy hunter, ssabednarg 1 pack 5” senko houdini 3 packs 3/0 hooks owner twistlock, wide gap plus, g lock worm 1 pack owner ultra head shaky type 1/16 4/0 I will see how these work out, hopefully good.
