Not sure about this Rick Clunn Trickster spinnerbait. I'm curious to see if a) the blades will tangle up with the hook and b) the bent wire that close to the hook will hurt hookups.

That's an interesting spinnerbait. I'd be real curious how it will work. I wouldn't be very optimistic, but these things can be surprising.

Most of those beads seem kind of pointless since the wire is horizontal, and just unnecessary top weight. And obviously the front one isn't doing its job.

Tackle Warehouse has a "Luck-E-Strike Trickster Spinnerbait" that looks mostly the same but it doesn't have that extreme bend, and it has a different style front bead. Rick Clunn isn't mentioned on that one. Weird.

Lol.  We know what stage he is in.  In a couple years, he'll have so much stuff, it acts like a deterrent.

BTW...did you get those curados from Ali-X?  I have the same 2 reels coming.

IIRC he's already been there and sold it all off. He's just restocking now lol right @Jmurphy87

I read that the dopamine spike you get from making a purchase can last over 48hrs....longer than any illicit drug.

You know it, the more that I collect the more picky I get about what exactly that I want. I am already overwhelmed with rods again. Heck one of my friends from work who is just getting into fishing has gotten some great deals from me. Like a kage spinning rod and a ballistic reel for $100 and I loaded him a 3700 tray with high end top waters, crank baits, frogs and buzz baits and jigs even chatter baits along with various plastics all for $80. I like helping people get into the sport and having good gear.

Maybe 2 hours if you are lucky lol.

You know it, maybe that’s why I like crawling and hopping around on the 100-500 ton presses at work. Maybe I am a monkey lol, I didn’t even throw the lures that I bought yesterday. Planned on it but like normal, bring a lot use a little bit of stuff. Of course it doesn’t help that one of the most productive areas of the lake is a weed line to a break. Weightless senko for the win. Hard to fish but it works great, 10 fish per senko is not too bad.

There's definitely such thing as too much tackle. It can create anxiety. Or so I'm told. ;)

And yessir. Those were Ali steals.

Word.  I also bought a 150 and a 70.  Then decided at noon today that if there were any 70XG's left I should buy another.  There was 1 left :high-five: :xmasicon_cool:

Looks like TW info was off on the specs for what I ended up getting. Already sent them an email, so hopefully this gets clear up soon.

I had the same issue with an Okuma rod I got - the response was "Trust what's on the rod, not the website".  Maybe yours will be the same, but who knows.

Well that kinda sucks then because I already have a glass rod for 1/2oz weights. Just wanted one that could do up to 3/4. Lew's doesnt even have that rod with those specs on their site(which of course I checked after I got the rod).

Send that one back and get a Victory 7'2" MH/M

This is why I buy my rods in person at a store.  Its a gamble online.  And so is shipping.

I would prefer to buy it in person but none of the stores around here have a great selection of the rods I like.

I must be under a lucky star then - of my current arsenal of 20 rods (bass and panfish) only 3 have been purchased in person and other than that Okuma, every one has met the specs. Never had a shipping 'incident' either.

This is also my first time having an issue buying from TW.

I had nothing but issues with them the times I bought items from them.

Luckily there's plenty of in person retailers around me, so I can just shop the old fashioned way.  Something like a rod or a reel is an item I need to pick up and hold in person before I purchase it.  Its a personal preference.  Lots of people don't need to.  I would never buy a pair of shoes without trying them on either.

I don't do business with TW anymore for several reasons.

Had  a few rods that were without reels, so of course I had to remedy that. The 70 and 150 Curado MGL's are some of my favorite reels out right now. Also have another Daiwa Tatula 80 on the way (also fallen in love with this one).

Of course I had to grab a few of the new TW exclusive black/blue Jackhammers. As you can see, the head and blade are both matte black, as opposed to the regular black/blue. Also, the skirt is all black with a little bit of blue glitter sprinkled in. Much less blue in it compared to the regular version.

With 4" Z-Man Diezel Minnowz. One of my absolute favorite Chatterbait trailers. These don't have any crazy kick like most paddletails.

I'm a swim jig nut. So I'm always messing around with new trailers. Curious to see how the 4" Z-Man Swimmerz do. This particular color (Gold Rush) matches up nicely with @Siebert Outdoors Shot Caller in Black Green Pumpkin color. :whistle1: Should be great in some of the really stained lakes around here.

I also bought some of the  Z-Man Midwest Finesse Swim Jigs and paired them up with the 3" Z-Man Minnowz. These are some sweet little morsels. The smallies sure love them. Here's a size comparison to the Shot Caller/4" trailer.

You may have room to open up the wire angle for more blade clearance

That's exactly what I had to do. The blades were fouling with the hook, BIG TIME. Bent it up a tad and all seems good.

@Texas Flood If you’re looking for a Lews rod they have quite a few rods to choose from. You should look up the David Frits crank bait rods, they also have a 7’-3” TP1X available at Tackle Warehouse that is a medium heavy rated from a 1/2-1-3/8 ounce and a TP1 Black 6’-10” med heavy moderate fast rated to 3/4 ounce. I have the previous version of the TP1 and other than the rod being white colored which is not my favorite color it’s a nice rod at its price point. Although if it broke I would replace it with a speed stick custom lite in 7’-3” medium heavy moderate fast rated up to 1 ounce myself. All are showing availability on Tackle Warehouse for an exchange if you’re interested in Lews rods.

You could have just let the pack of pike do that for you too.  They love to bend the frames of spinnerbaits.  Haha

Ironically, I have not caught a single pike this season yet.  How strange.

You just jinxed it. Pike said they’ll see you next time
