Imagine that. Bet it doesn’t “stick” great when you get one of those weekly monsoon style rains.

Yeah those are rough on it, as well as foot traffic. but it was $3 at DSG and has lasted a few months, almost worth the price of admission at this point haha

Beast mode Bluegill.....it's amazing how fast they change color once you remove them from the water.

Been 3 months almost to the day since I last got the boat out. Had a near perfect day here to finally get out and check everything after sitting all winter. Mostly sunny, highs in the mid to upper 50s, and no wind. Outside of some trailer light issues, most everything went smooth. Took about an hour to shake the rust off, but once I got settled in and found the fish, I caught them pretty good. Felt good to swing on a bunch of crappie again after a long winter.

Got the boat out again. Over 2” of rain from the passing storms had the reservoir well stained - maybe 12” or less of visibility. Went after the crappie again, and despite some being suspended, I found plenty that were pinned on isolated pieces of cover. Picked up around 85-90 in just under 3 hours. Always a fun time, but will probably start thinking about chasing bass once the water stabilizes more.

Man, I can’t wait.  You’re making me jealous.   We have to catch panfish here first anyway since our bass season doesn’t open until later.  It is a fun way to open the season though.  About a month and a half left.  ?

SWMBO and I caught a ride with @TnRiver46 yesterday afternoon. She had a pretty good day on the water. Flat out whipped the both of us in the process.

It was rad. On the way home she told me that she thought her reel kind of sucked, so I'm fixing up a surprise for her.

Them blocks are terribly useful things.

My ego never was good for much more than getting me in trouble, anyway. I had fun watching her have fun. We got to heckle a heron, too.

Yessir. As long as the fish want it the way she wants to give it to them. Luckily, her favorites really like it just like that.

We're gonna see about branching her out a bit this year.
