The river was a chocolate log flowage but we went anyway. My buddy’s dog was trying to latch onto 2 lb spikey white bass and eat them like urchins3-BC9-AA96-8632-4-F4-E-8-D9-E-E68233-D67

Got the boat out again. Over 2” of rain from the passing storms had the reservoir well stained - maybe 12” or less of visibility. Went after the crappie again, and despite some being suspended, I found plenty that were pinned on isolated pieces of cover. Picked up around 85-90 in just under 3 hours. Always a fun time, but will probably start thinking about chasing bass once the water stabilizes more.

Man, I can’t wait.  You’re making me jealous.   We have to catch panfish here first anyway since our bass season doesn’t open until later.  It is a fun way to open the season though.  About a month and a half left.  ?

SWMBO and I caught a ride with @TnRiver46 yesterday afternoon. She had a pretty good day on the water. Flat out whipped the both of us in the process.

It was rad. On the way home she told me that she thought her reel kind of sucked, so I'm fixing up a surprise for her.

There's the proof of life centerbrick anchor I needed to believe this post ?

Sounds like a blast outside of getting your ego's checked

Them blocks are terribly useful things.

My ego never was good for much more than getting me in trouble, anyway. I had fun watching her have fun. We got to heckle a heron, too.

Yessir. As long as the fish want it the way she wants to give it to them. Luckily, her favorites really like it just like that.

We're gonna see about branching her out a bit this year.

I'm seeing a decent number of big(ish) striped bass pictures here lately from the Annapolis area...

I’ve been trying one spot that has produced well in the past, I don’t think they are there quite yet, but it can’t be long

Landlocked stripers try to do a spawning migration, so upstream to head waters in and around channels or depressions with large live baits in high 40s to mid 50s degree water is the ticket this time of year.

That’s where I’ve been, at a low head dam where they can’t go any further. Water temp been about 54 there

Went after work with my buddy, targeting black bass with livescope, trying to avoid white bass. Result:

Yeah the best guys on scope in the world can't really tell the difference b/t black  and white Bass on the screen.

Ben Milliken had to wade through a ton of them while Eufaula, if he can't tell the difference, I doubt anybody can.
