Not sure this was a "sale" but Wally World had these for $4.50.  Adjustable with Velcro.  Also had a few Abu and Yum hats in the same bin.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. I'm not as active 'round these parts anymore. Haven't bought anything in about 5 month. Haven't had the boat out in almost 5 months. Really sucks, but it'

Got a kick out of these huge markdowns.

Just a heads up on the Pflueger reels for sale on their website. I had it price matched to Dicks sporting goods with the $10 off $50 applied. They don’t refund tax back, but I figured $51 for one of the Pflueger Supreme XT lefty is pretty good from somewhere where returns would be easy.

Was this at the local store or online? I know my local store does not have any Pfluegers in stock.

Nevermind, I saw the items online.

Thank you!  Just ordered the Lady President and my wife is thrilled.

Went to my local DSG today and they had all of their clearance stuff buy 5 get 5 free.  I picked up 5 Strike King Crankbaits for a $3.47 each, 2 GYCB spinnerbaits, and 3 bags of Berkley Power Worms, all for under $20.

My local Academy marked down a lot of stuff and I think I happened to walk in the same day. They set up a clearance area in the back of the store, not in the fishing department. I would have totally missed it if one of the employees had not mentioned it to me. At the time I felt like I was buying too much, but now I wish I had bought more. There were guys next to me literally filling baskets.

You did not get too much. I feel like I am king of the clearance deals.  I shoot for finding baits under $3-4.

You have me beat with Ochos for less than $0.50, Ribbit frogs under $1 and Senkos for $2.

Nicely done and I'd check my closest Academy if it was actually possible to get there.

FWIW some DSG's are really cleaning out now - but they are all still buy 5 get 5.

I have to give you props for having such self control. I only saw 1-2 of each items on your receipt. If it were me, it would be closer to 20-30 of each item, especially on the $0.48 ones.

Overstock bait still has deals on Norman crankbaits, including BOGO on a few models.

Also, they have a whole bunch of war eagle spinnerbaits....these may be pre-Pradco.  They're selling some in 6-bait bundles for about 1/2 price total, with a free t-shirt.

I wish I had an academy or an opportunity to grab a few on those things on there. Seems like the deals are always somewhere where I can’t get them haha!

I’ll be happy when Academy starts shipping to California again. Prop 65 labeling standards have caused them to stop shipping here.

It's just the opposite for me - getting to DSG is a pain. I may go back to Academy again today to see if there's anything left.

The thing is, I don't normally use a lot of the stuff that was marked down, like Senkos and Ochos, but I couldn't pass on the deals. Now I need to learn how to fish them.

Did they get updated recently? I have noticed way way more of them popping up in the last six months or so.

So have I, IMO it does more harm than good when they label almost everything as "may cause cancer". Doesn't help distinguish between things that are actually dangerous if used by consumers vs things that have minuscule trace amounts of some chemical that may be linked to cancer if you ingested it for lunch everyday.

Stay away from Dihydrogen Monoxide. It's a chemical that can corrode many metals, can cause death if inhaled, causes skin damage if left in contact for too long.

Has California banned it yet? They should based on their past banning of 'dangerous' chemicals.

Yea, it is a literal "boy who cried wolf" situation and is a disservice to both consumers and industry.  Like if both methyl ethyl ketone and my toothbrush have the same warning on them, something is wrong.

Anyone know how/when to buy an ALX rod on sale?  When is the next TW sale?  Anywhere else I should check?

I would have been one of those guys??

I went to a different Academy location today and they had the same type set up in the back of the store, but the prices and selection were a little different. They had a bunch of the same type items for $1.98 like the other store, but they didn't have all the lower price stuff. So it looks like it varies by location and maybe by time too. It looks like it's set up to be gradually marked down further.

It gets updated annually I think. It’s to the point that nobody takes it seriously anymore.  Sure, if you eat enough lead it will hurt you, but putting warning labels on literally anything with it in it just defeats the purpose of warnings.
