Most expensive lure

Featured Replies

Hello,

Just wondering what was the most expensive lure that you have ever bought, and if you have lost it?

Panty Dropper Toxic Whipper Snapper - $280 - Pretty sure I could turn it around for more than that if I really tried hard. Its a sought after collector bait. I plan to fish it though.   Boug

  • My buddy convinced me to buy a $5 chartreuse spinnerbait. We went fishing and I caught a 9.25# largemouth. Then I bought a boat.

Evolution Baits Grassburner for $25 when it first came out.  Worst impulse buy ever. I think it is like $15 on TW now.  I still have it, but I have lost confidence in it so I will probably never lose it.

Megabass JB's are about as high as I go, and I am OK with that.

It still amazes me on the price of some of the larger swimbaits.....glad I have never had great luck with them  ?

Z-Man Jackhammer for 14.00 which is actually a good price. I keep throwing my five buck chatterbaits for fear of losing it.

Probably these. For the reasonable price of about $15.00 each. From Big M’s Crankbaits. I could use a few more. I lost most of them. But can’t find Big M’s Crankbaits anymore. The orange/black was custom made at my request and to this day has caught me more bass than anything else. I still have 2. The shad on the bottom catches, too. The top one was lost before catching any fish.

Megabass Vision 110 is the most expensive lure I’ve ever bought. Bought a Jackhammer a few weeks ago and only took 20 minutes to lose it so it got replaced with a Project Z.

Megabass Vision jerkbaits

Still have yet to catch something with them ?

3:16 Real Deal trout swimbait back in 2007 was $150. I have several Black Dog and 22nd Century Triple Trout custom painted wooden swimbaits between $90 t0 $125. My 1st wooden swimbait was Ken Huddleston Sr Castiac trout swimbait back in the early 90's was $60 and lost it to a big stripe bass on a bouy line cable, 1 of a kind lure that can't be replaced.

Around $16.00 for Lucky Craft suspending jerkbaits. I have several of them in various colors and sizes. I have lost one of them but I finally replaced it. I got most of mine with gift cards. I won't spend any more than this for lures. I try to get mine for $10.00 or less now.

Bought it to tear up a lake I know has double digits in it this Spring. Demands of work plus flooding here and I have only had the chance to cast it a couple times.

Whopper Ploppers at $12.99 each. I haven’t lost one yet. So far, they’re worth it.

The most I've spent on a lure was $15 or so for an S-Waver or a Whopper Plopper.  I'm sure there are some great, expensive lures out there but I catch a ton of fish on $2 - $6 baits so I don't see the need for me to spend more.

This old Creek Chub lure (pictured) belonged to my late grandfather and I've been offered $250 for it. NFS. My last purchase was for a couple of those Evergreen Bream Slides, $66 each.

Phoney Frog glide custom painted in black crappie color. I actually won it in a benefit raffle that I bought $500+ worth of tickets for. I won 2 other baits too but that was the most pricey one.

Most expensive bait I've lost so far is a Donut Shad, which were $80 when I bought mine.

I have a school of Bull Shads/Bull Herrings, a few Triple Trouts and Megabass Megadog. I haven't lost one yet. I retie multiple times a day especially after a catch.

Name brand senko throughout the year

Spro frog for something like $10.  Haven't lost it yet.

The most expensive baits that I own are my Bull Shads. So far, I have never lost one.

I do have hundreds (literally) of crankbaits and jerkbaits in the $10 to $20 range and I have lost A TON of those. No matter how many times you lose one, it still sucks. lol

I guess my most expensive lures are Stanford Boom Boom frog and a Boom Boom Popping frog.

Jackhammer no matter the price it never fails I will lose it after an hour or two. At least it seems it’s a given
