After hours of chasing an elusive trout these two streamers caught everything.

One of My co-worker’s sons is fishing Hartwell this week for the HS CHAMPIONSHIP. so I put together a care package to wish him good luck. Seems like blueback herring patterns are all over the board so just went with some more shaddy baits that had blue in them.

Being a hook snob and price conscious led to me dressing my first treble today. Not a super clean job of it but we will get better

Okay - I'm baby-stepping my way into this. Just picked up some plain swimbait heads and wanted to 'spice them up'.

Pro-Tec paint from Barlows, some larger eyes for the 1/2oz I got from Amazon and smaller eyes from Barlows for the 1/4oz.

Right now, 4 colors should do me: (reverse order) Green Pumpkin, Green Chartreuse, Black and Fire Craw.

My setup is bare-bones - cheap craft heat gun, rack I made from scrap aluminum and a brass rod, and a salvaged toaster oven.

The wire-rack in back is my 'cooling rack'...also did up some 1/32oz and 1/16oz ball jigs for crappie fishing.

Yes, the toaster oven is set to 400 - the oven thermometer was used to calibrate it...dial says 400, thermometer went "uh-uh, 350"

Proud lure maker moment! I made this inline spinner over a year ago. He was fishing our local stream and finally used it. Spot is 300 yds from my childhood home and my favorite place in the world. This 20” smallie gobbled it. Its the first 20” I ever heard of being caught down there. Ive caught 18s and 19s but never a 20”. Several northern also bit. I think this might be just as good as me catching it myself.

Hope tied jigs counts, here's a few things I did over the winter with the intent to try and haven't used yet.

What kind of clevis is that?

2 reg clevises, i just overlapped them to get a duel blade. I think musky size ones are called cowboy inlines?

I believe it is called 'cowgirl' style. I built some myself but they had a sticky start up on the retrieve. Maybe I will try your idea.

Here is a couple proven patterns I made more of recently.

I really struggle with making them, especially in the smaller sizes. I have a hard time getting blade startup. I have done heavy, light, more space, less space, diff wire and clevis sized.

as usual a beautiful work of art.

Thank you Crypt! Much appreciated! Still grinding away at it making a variety of baits here and there when time allows.

I found a very deteriorated Paw-Paw What-A-Frog a while back. It was a hard decision, as I considered keeping it as is, but the hardware was in surprisingly good condition so I decided to go for it.

Here it is after final fitting. now to find hooks and figure what color I want it to be. The wood is Red Cedar. I used my pocket knife for much of the work.

Cedar is some of my favorite to carve. Getting that final shape can be alittle time consuming but its worth it

A few underspins I put together. They work well but I feel like maybe i need to move the wire farther forward so the blade isnt quite so far back? I dont know that it actually matters but i feel like it might balance out the presentation alittle more. Jigs are cleared with with generic amazon UV clear. I feel this stuff works just as well if not better than other clearcoats I’ve used. Key is not to leave them in the uv cure light chamber.

I’ve been playing around with jigs quite a bit more this year and they have really turned into a confidence lure for me this year. I was getting somewhat discouraged at getting hung up as I fish a lot of wood structure and was wanting an economical solution so after reading here and the YouTube black hole I decided to order some things from LurePartsOnline.

I ordered 10 5/16 round ball jigs with the heavier hook and 10 1/2 archy type jigs. Really happy with how the finesse jigs turned out and they match up perfectly with my Missile Mini D trailers. I need to work with the tab counts on the full size jigs. They were just a smidge too full for my liking and I had to thin the inside a bit.
