Pre fishing breakfast...

Featured Replies

very large bowl or 2 of bran flakes, cheerios, plain mini wheats, korn flakes.....with a cut up banana put in and always use fake sugar or else mix in some sugared coco crispies.

I pee in the general area i am fishing and poop in the woods, i always have wet wipes and tp close by in the car. Hardest part about squating in the woods is making sure you spread your feet enough so as to not drop the deuce on the back of your shoes.

Pot of black coffee.  I'll often take a couple granola bars along, but almost always still have a couple granola bars left when I return.

Crazy...at work, when clock strikes 11AM, I'm starving.  But I could be in the boat from 5AM to 4PM and never think about food

Bacon & eggs with toast & grits if we go out to breakfast before fishing. Otherwise it’s my standard eat at home breakfast of low fat yogurt with fruit & a black coffee. Helps eliminate surprises out on the boat if you know what I mean.

I roll with "Two Good" greek yogurt and a handful of almonds four or five days a week. Lots of probiotics and protein, only a few hundred calories, and low in sugar. Good stuff, especially for the gut. 8 cup pot of black coffee is a must, 7 days a week.

Just when you think you know a guy…… 😂

Indeed. I did not expect the rugged Muskie chaser to indulge in yogurt and almonds. Maybe that’s his secret to fishing prowess.

I finally found the Major Dickason’s whole bean coffee in a Walmart of all places. Absolutely bouncing off the walls off that stuff.

All that’s missing is the ‘fishing’ part of ‘pre-fishing breakfast’. 😔

I’ll eat about anything but the almonds are always the last thing left in the pantry (or bag of trail mix ) . And I’d have to be pretty well starved to eat yogurt unless my wife has made some sort of gyros with lamb and taziki sauce

😂 It's actually pretty good. I've been eating this breakfast regularly for a couple years now and really haven't burned out on it. Several different flavors of yogurt. If it makes ya feel better, I had waffles and bacon this morning. 😁

Toasted bagel with an overeasy egg sandwiched in there and some cream cheese mixed in. Two more overeasy eggs on the side.

I tried that stuff based on advice from this forum.

Not impressed to say the least.  Tasted more like dark colored water to this guy.

Are the beans fresh if you got the whole bean? They should be very oily. Make sure it’s a recent batch and that it’s well within the freshest by days.

It is super strong coffee

But yeah, if you don’t like it, no sweat. We all got different taste buds.

@LrgmouthShad they were whole bean.  I will give it a second try based on your suggestion.  The local grocer I shop at regularly has them.

@gimruis Okay, sounds cool. I brew at 1 heaping tablespoon grounds per 3oz water in a pour over. YMMV

I usually chomp a no-doze, then eat half a pound of bacon with the grease still on it. Then it's time for a single Marlboro red 100 and Van Halen on the way to the lake

It’s in the beard

I start the day with two eggs, oatmeal, non-fat yogurt with fresh blueberries, and a strong cup of dark roast coffee with chickory.

Once I'm on the water I'll have a couple of Clif bars during the day.
