  1. Over time, this deal pulls a 180. First 3 attributes fade. Then the fish catching becomes the least arduous aspect of fishing. It's everything else that needs to happen before & after that can be the biggest challenge. Being light on your feet, strong, flexible & balanced is key, off & especially on the water. A long, full Life is the ultimate challenge. A-Jay
  2. Really sorry to hear about your Lab ~ I say a new puppy could make a great addition to your newly renovated home. A-Jay
  3. Taking a full 3 Day de-load. (Massive Yard Work & fishing) Next workout will be 11 Oct. Writing up this season's 'Hard Water' training schedule tonight. So I'll be starting back with that. Feeling like going back to the total body training but with a 4 Day Split this time. More to follow . . . . A-Jay
  4. 72 ~ That's funny . . . 😎 A-Jay

  6. I store this box 'flat'. A-Jay
  7. OK ~ Thanks for sharing that one. A-Jay
  8. Nope. At 64, aesthetics is out the window. Far more concerned with general health & well being. Quality of life my friend. Have a great workout and don't forget to EAT ! A-Jay
  9. Legs 1 this morning. After a good warm-up, I knocked out 3 working sets of 4 movements. Showing all 3 sets here. Have always preferred to keep my leg training on the basic side, especially now. Doing so gives me the confidence to grind. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  10. Really hope you bassheads can turn this around. Once one unlocks the magic that the walking bait possess, the rewards are supreme. Don't give up ! https://youtu.be/QB1VOTaQuvE?feature=shared&t=741 Fish Hard A-Jay
  11. Operating Impaired is a bad deal. Rarely the number one known contributing factor of accidents However. Annual statistics show that Operator inattention, Operator inexperience, Improper lookout, Excessive speed, Machinery failure, and Weather all rank in front of Alcohol on the top 10 list. Behind BWI is Navigation rules violation, Hazardous waters and Force of wake/wave. So simple sobriety on the water, is not a free pass. Stay Safe A-Jay
  12. I can admit to 'getting used to' catching a certain size of bass. Good or bad it happens. As for stealing the magic (good term btw), what bums me out is that whether I choose to use it or not, FFS will eventually effect MY fishing. Especially as the numbers of plus size fish begin to dwindle faster than they can replenish. I get it though. The world changes over time. If we're 'lucky' to life long enough, we see it. Last week on Lake Menderchuck, I watched 3 guys in a bass rig pull up 50 yds from me. One guy was staring at the FFS and using his hand to point out casting directions for the other two. I was fishing an 'edge' in 20 ft. Their boat was in 80 feet of water. I sat and ate my lunch while they casted furiously for 30 minutes. Never did catch a bass but it was very entertaining. By the end of the day, my antiquated rig helped me get 20 fish over 4lbs on a spinnerbait. I think there may still be some time for me up here before Armageddon. A-Jay
  13. Watched this one the other day as well. Can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. FFS will get better, become more affordable, recreational anglers will get better with it, and lots of bank accounts will continue to swell. It may be too little too late as far as 'regulation' goes. Over the recent course of history, seems anything (not just fishing related) with similar characteristics and effect on the populous, just goes wild, drives itself and changes the world. In this case it's bass fishing. Will it be a good thing ? Guess we'll find out, but I'm not confident. So glad I lived & fished so much of my life before this stuff evolved. Have to admit, this just makes me sad. A-Jay
  14. There's seems to be two distinct 'parts' to my Fall fishing. Early Fall, which is really like late summer everywhere else. And then Late Fall, which is usually like a month or so before hard water. (or it's just too darn cold to fish) So the early deal is mostly about horizontal moving baits. Spinnerbaits, A-Rig, Vibrating Jig, Squarebills, and Topwater walking baits. The later and colder water adventures see me throwing baits that are almost always on or at least near the bottom. Swimbaits, Blade Baits, Deep running Jerkbaits, Swingheads, and rattlebaits fished like a jig or blade bait. Some of my better producers can be seen below. As well as in this album ~ https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/gallery/album/2103-a-jays-baits/ Fish Hard A-Jay
  15. btw ~ this is what I use to 'paint' the rage bugs. Needs to dry overnight and has no 'scent'. Over the hard water season, I'll do up 'several baits' in preparation for the next year. Base color is green pumpkin but there may be no wrong answer. A-Jay
  16. Had a fishy overcast afternoon trip. Committed to points this time. A Rage Bug on a swinghead was the deal for this one. I did eventually change the tackle I was fishing it on. Started with a MHF Graphite stick and ended up having more success getting fish to the net with a H Mod Glass blank. Fish Hard A-Jay
  17. Rage Bug on a swinghead did all the heavy lifting for me today ~ A-Jay
  18. I'd be tempted to go full send Pee Wee Herman . . . . A-Jay
  19. I remember the sounds & the smells. Roar of the wind. The growl of the twin diesel engines at full throttle. The taste & smell of the salty sea. But what sticks with me the most is that "Feeling". The feeling were operating in an environment that ends lives, and we loved it. #noroomforerror (I was not operating this rig) A-Jay
  20. I carry an extra just because redundancy in my life's work. But I think if the kill switch is flipped up even without the cord, the motor will run. A-Jay
  21. I was losing Spinnerbait blades for a while as the bass would hit the blade and tear it off. Once I up scaled my hardware (split rings & swivels) it put an end to that noise. A-Jay
  22. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act but a habit. And habits are the building blocks of our lives. Develop good ones. A-Jay
  23. Pull 2 this morning. After sufficient warm-up, I competed 3 working sets of 4 movements. The last one of each was a drop set. Threw in some eccentric reps as well. Felt good. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  24. OK ~Thanks for the clarity. I was going to ask if Aunt B was still putting pies in the window . . . . Slow day here . . . A-Jay
