  1. I don't get how the noise and feel of the leader knot doesn't drive you guys crazy.
  2. All dobyns rods are great values for the price. You get what you pay for. At this point I'm happy with Sierra Micro SERIES
  3. I'm in the process of converting to all lefties. I fished all eighties for 32 years. Bought a lefty by mistake and loved it for pitching. The only thing I'm having problems with is a buzzbait sinking.
  4. Sane people like me don't fish when it's that cold.
  5. Why not ? As long as they are alconite or better I say go for it.
  6. My 7 ft sierra series have 14 micros with the tip.i love them. I feel much more confident in the feel of the rod. I think it helps with distance and accuracy.
  7. Definitely agree. And no leaders either. Either straight braid mono or Flouro.
  8. I would buy a Lew's hypermag . But then again I wouldn't since I don't fish spinning.
  9. Do yns 735 is like a MH . Should be fine
  10. Lew's bb1 pro hands down. I'm assuming you want a little more line capacity.
  11. I would find out if they would cover it. If not buy a Dobyns with lifetime no fault replacement but you pay a fee.
  12. Seems like an awful lot of money to chuck a sonar ball to me. Can't it be done way cheaper ?
  13. I'm thinking of trying it. It has great reviews but I need some from you guys. It's an 8 strand and supposed to be really slick and quiet through the guides. Everything I've seen says it hardly fades at all. So has anybody here tried it ?
  14. When stretching flourocarbon it can be one damaged and weakened. It does not recover well. I agree with this.
  15. My condolences on your puppy . We had to put our 18 year old beagle down a few years ago. We wound up with another rescue 4 months later.
  16. I have Dobyns Sierra Micro guides in 7-0 heavy and 7-3 heavy. They actually fish mh fast. They are incredibly well balanced. I pair them with a Lew's custom Lite at 4.9 oz and they balance right in front of the reel. They are sensitive and handle fish really well. Casting is accurate due to the tip action of these rods. They have a no questions asked lifetime warranty. I think it's 70 or 80$ to get a replacement. Can speak about Lew's tournament rods except for the fact that I hate winn grips.
  17. Lew's tournament pro. Lew's pro sp. Lew's BB1pro LFS. All great reels that you should try. I regularly outcast my buddy who has diawa and Shimano even the dc. We are both on the same level. He tried my BB1 pro crankbaits reel and was amazed .
  18. Are you sure you didn't touch it adjusting your drag ?
  19. I hear it was Lake Ontario not Erie. Awesome fish. Don't know whose article was right.
  20. Like reading old feild and stream articles . Awesome.
