I don't own any phenix rods, but the new m1 is sweet and I've considered one. Reviews are outstanding. I'd go m1, but the 7'4" is a MH. They have a 7'2"H though.

Slow-rolled spinnerbait, jig, trap, and jerkbait are whats on deck in prespawn . Apparently the A-rig is winning tournaments in my area during prespawn, and I need to commit to purchasing and mastering them....as much as I don't want to.

I go by what I think bass are feeding on at that particular time of year. Prespawn its a finesse jig or shakeyhead. Spawn/post spawn followed by the bluegill spawn (when fry are around), I like a 3.5" tube and a slider worm.

Essence XR is the new Essence ci4+. Same internals as the magnesium framed version, minus 2 BB's (9+1 vs 11+1). I have the 2018 ci4+ c3000mhg and am a fan. The new XR is only 5g heavier than the magnesium Essence (185g vs 180g). My '18 model is 195g. I'll be getting an XR or two eventually.

I read something a while back saying Reaction Innovations Vixen is a copy of this bait. Apparently the kicknocker was out of production for a while, and came back.

I feel quality is suffering in all products these days...IMO mainly due to companies looking for the highest margins possible. I'm on my 3rd microwave in 5 years. Growing up in the 80's, we had the same inexpensive 2-knob microwave until after I graduated high school.

A local newscaster went fishing with a guode on a local lake. She talked about the live sonar and said it was called video game fishing because you stare at the screen while you fish. I will not be staring at a screen while I fish. I go fishing to get away from staring at my computer screen. Tournaments should be held with and without livescope.
