I would have lost my mind if I had to deal with the weather you have every day. I would have to move far south and tell the family if they wanted to see me in the winter they would have to come to me. Your dogs love snow so much what do they do for fun in the summer? Chase the mailman?

I am like @Lonnie P. on this. I use whatever I like for the particular bait I'm using. If I had to get by with just one it would be a 6:1 or about 26" IPT. I don't like having to force myself to slow down my retrieve and this is plenty fast enough for anything I will be using.

I have gone to Wal Mart and bought reels for $5 or $6 to use for a trade in. A lot of people were doing this.

We have a bunch of people in our neighborhood that ride ATVs and small motor bikes or dirt bikes on the road a lot in the summer. There have been some accidents where they got hurt but it doesn't stop them. The police have been called so many times about it they don't bother with it anymore. The parents have to be buying them new ones to ride because the ones riding them are too young to have a job. They must have spotters calling them to get off the road any time a police cruiser comes through the neighborhood. I would like to see the law changed to when they did get caught the police could confiscate there stuff and issue a fine. Once it starts getting into the parents bank account like that I guarantee it would stop.

I like the Gamakatsu short shank EWG hooks. I change to a short shank hook to keep the hooks from catching each other on a crankbait. I don't worry about upsizing when I do this. I have even downsized at times just so the bait wouldn't get hung up as easy.

I ordered some Beetle Spins along with several other things a while back. I mainly bought them to see if they would help me with the SMB bite in some places I fish. I fish a couple of creeks that have SMB and the bite has been really tough. I still love a Jitterbug for topwater fishing. I use them in the daytime and catch fish with them. They are not just for night time use. As for the hooks on them I change them out to better treble hooks and also add split rings to them.

I agree with @stratoliner92 about junebug and the OL Monster worms. Also like the Mag 2 worms. You might try red bug colored worms. I have better luck with them than red shad.

With his attitude being what it is that sounds like a good reason not to buy any products he endorses.

I'm not trying to hijack this thread but I have a stupid question to ask. What is a Wong Rig you have listed by the Weighted Senko?

The size of the hook will vary depending on the soft plastic you are using. @J Francho has you covered on most of them. I would strongly suggest you go with a medium heavy rod if possible. A medium will not be stiff enough to get a good hook set with thicker plastics.

If you put in a pedistal seat you must have another seat to sit in. In most states it is illegal to sit in a pedistal seat while the boat is under power by an outboard motor.

If you are going to thin out the weed guard it is better to cut them off at the head instead of cutting them shorter at the top.

Guess you missed the part where I said I try to pass them at idle speed and not create much wake.

I use junebug worms a lot. I use Zoom u tale, mag 2, and ol monster worms. I haven't had much luck with brush hogs and baby brush hogs in that color.

I have one problem with people and kayaks. I try to slow down to idle speed to pass them safely and not cause a problem. Usually they won't quit paddling long enough for me to get by them. So I have start picking up speed again to get past them. If they get swamped sorry about your luck.
