I use 6# Kastking Super Power Silky 8 Braid Hi Viz or Kastking Destron Hi Viz with a 6# FC leader on both my BFS setups. Works well for me.

I have the Kestrel Finesse by Kastking they are reasonably priced. The Zephyr which is a little bit cheaper. I am partial to KK but with the BF sales going on there is a brand of rod that will suit yours needs and budget.

I will ususally look at my watch and set a time when it my last cast will. Could be 5 mins or 15 mins. The only exception is if I am having a great day catching fish which doesn't happen too often.
