cork handles, and how i might repair/mend one?
Agree with the need for a pic. But it sounds like the rings have shrunk and you have lost the between the rings. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

Emergency need help with fix a rod tip ?
Well the fix shown is mickey moused at best and won't last. Fix: Take the rod to your nearest tackle shop and ask them to place a new tip. They should be able to do the tip replacement for about 3.99.. Or go buy a tip repair kit and replace the tip top yourself.... You will not get that small of a break to repair. Good Luck & Tight Lines! Sorry flechero didn't see the reply...

Whats stronger / single blank rod or 2 piece
I love all the X2 X3 X4 replies ...... As flechero stated it will depend on how well the ferrules have been built. I have a 13 year old 2 piece rod that gets a lot of light line workouts catching bass and no problems..... I have also built 100's of telescopic flipping rods and they have never had an issue with the junctions. Tight Lines All!!

Scum and Gunk - Reel Cleaning??
First off the pawl in the BPS Extreme reel is bad, especially if you have to add pressure to get it to start working again. The worm gear needs deep cleaning and the pawl replaced. The Black Max is the same problem, when ever you feel a hitch in the cranking it is usually something in the cuts on the worm gear. Clean it and the pawl (may have to replace the pawl there also). The Shimano® and Quantum® can and will with out proper maintenance do the same things. Don't bet on that, if you have never broken down a BC reel then I would suggest that you don't and have the reels professionally done at least once a season to maintain them at peak performance... Rod Sensitivity Comparison
Find a shop/s that carry the rod/s your interested in and take your reel with you. Mount the reel to the rod and feel the systems sensativity there in the shop. I really do not like trying to buy rods on-line unless I have found somewhere that I could actually hold the rod/s i'm interested in.. Just an old builders .02¢ Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

suggestions on line and reel care
Yup if your storing in really high humidity and high temps your reels aren't drying out stored in the rod box. You can check the temp in those boxes at the hottest time of the day any thing over 150°F to 300°F and it will affect the rods, line, and the reels will sweat. Mine did when I first tried storing them in the rod lockers on my Nitro, we get high humidity and over 100°+ here in KS. especially when the fine folks down in ol Miss send that muggy heat up north our way....... If your not fishing and storing for 3 days or more, I would take the systems out of the boxes and store inside in the dryer cooler air.... Tight Lines!!!

Using a heavy reel with a light rod?
No! As far as the balance goes if the rod is say a 3 to 4 oz rod without the reel. The reel weighs say 11.6oz you have a total system that weighs just shy of a pound. With that large of a reel I would say the balance would be close to neutral (at the reel) with a 6'6" rod with a 7" grip to seat span, with a 7' or longer rod and a 10" grip to seat span, would go tip heavy even with that large of a reel attached. Depending on the rod, should be a great outfit if your built to handle that all day. Just a old builders .02¢ Tight Lines All!

best baitcasting reel??
If I had the bucks right now I would have that reel for sure........
-
best baitcasting reel??
I agree 100% with cart7t. The Garcia® Round reel in C3 ($85.00), and older rounds are bottom of the budget price for quality BC reels. just my .02¢ again.... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

Fixing Rod nic/scratches???
Disagree 100%, that will void any warranty on those rods.. Sally Hansen | Hard as Nails, isn't water proof or flexible. St. Croix uses Flex Coat HB on their rods and I don't know to many clear coats that will adhere to it unless you do know how to make a water break free areas... I personally don't worry about nicks in my custom builds on St.Croix blanks unless the scratch/nick has broken the blanks fibers.... The broken fibers would also have to be in a heavily flexed are of the rod. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

casting overhead with baitcaster
Did you set the lure fall rate? Cast Control. Plus reels spool Brakes to the lure, rod and line your using? Sounds like the combo isn't setup right for long distance casting. Basic Baitcast Reel Setup 101 Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

Fixing Rod nic/scratches???
The key is making sure that rods in transit and or storage don't have lures on them that can scratch or nick blank finishes. The Mojo use a Gloss Black Pearl finish and the Avid uses Carbon Pearl finish I don't think you can reproduce them either. I would contact St.Croix for warranty info on the rods. I wouldn't worry about the marks if they are only superficial, and don't break any of the blanks graphite fibers... Just an old rod builders .02¢

Steez Eyelelt Fell Off
I agree with Brokeju I would contact Daiwa®, but sending a rod up to 7' isn't as cheap as sending a 1lb box with a reel in it. That's why I recommended a local rod repair/tackle shop. I don't agree with the natural, but that isn't to say that wouldn't work (it's mickey moused). It just won't help the rod any. Most epoxies that are not made for rod building don't flex or change shape like the rod blank does as it loads and unloads (especialy in the tip section), reason for having to use a quality rod finish for guide/wraps and rod epoxy for glue ups. Again just an old pro builders .02¢ Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

Boca Bearings
Yup Boca is a quality bearing outfit we are linked on their site.. BUT! I'll bet if you guys were to pick up two rod/reel combo's everything in the combos line, lure, rod being equal, one with ABEC5 stainless bearings and one with ABEC7 stainless bearings, that none would be able to tell which reel had what in it. ABEC5 stainless bearings will get you extra footage in casting, and depending on the location of bearing some cranking smoothness. ABEC7 are made for extremely high speed rotating motor's ie. remote control car motors, dremel tools, etc... Just my .02¢ Reel Drag & Spool Shaft Bearing Upgrade Supplies Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

Glue to secure loose line guide
There isn't a glue. Super Glue will not resolve your problem as it isn't flexible or water proof. You need to have the guide re-wrapped and re-finished. Find a local rod builder or tackle shop that can do rod tip/guide repair..... No other way that isn't just a mickey mouse bandade on your rod.......... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

eye guide fix/repair...need help/advice/techniques!!!.......................
you got it!!!!! i checked before, but not thoroughly enough apparently!!!!!! upon closer inspection earlier this afternoon, i did find a slight chip in the top guide that is most likely the culprit....... gonna go get it repaired and all should be fine..... Another thought...... Test your guide rings by using a Q-tip and spinning it around inside the shock ring. If any fibers show up then you have located a hairline crack/chip that will over time fray the best of lines and knots. The guides that fail this test should be replaced... Rod Care....
